The club charge £2 per night for an extra car for an overnight stay beside a van, ( fair enough and is listed as a charge) the site im booked into want to charge £2 a night for my boat on a trailer. Its not a car, and on the site we visit there is ample parking  space  even if tucked in along the awning /van, dozens of boats have been on this site for the last 20 years ( as long as I have been visiting) without charge. Never has anyone had any bother before it has never caused an issue, why now ?

I think the only people who can answer the question are the local site management. If they have selected you alone to pay a charge for parking your boat then I'd say you have a case for escalation to head office.

Basically you know the charge and can either accept it or go somewhere else. It generally costs the club nothing for an extra car on a pitch the same as with this site and the boat. Like all charges you can make your own mind up when booking and go for what suits you.
