Caravan fridge freezer
We intend to travel to Holland using the Hull/Rotterdam overnight ferry. Has anyone any advice on how we can keep the frozen food in the caravan freezer compartment frozen during the 12hour crossing.

Good advice from ABM. If you can pre-chill your fridge do so. We can't but more often than not frozen stuff we've put in the fridge for first nights dinner is still frozen! Pack your freezer and fridge as tightly as you can, freeze cartons of juice, milk or water. It all helps. It's a large cool box which will be fine I'm sure.

as said pre freezeon a high setting for about a week, fill up your freezer with what you want, then fill up any spaces left with newapaper (much better for filling corners) then keep the fridge door closed until you reach your campsite, the reason I say this is that your car will only cool the fridge whilst driving. If the weater has been hot when travelling, use the gas to boost the fridge when you get pitched, you should be ok and not have any defrosting. Above all enjoy your holiday, we travel to Belgium most years and allways bring meat back which goes in our freezer and we have never had a problem
