Oh, I thought Nav's post was tongue in cheek. Surely no-one would actually suggest that seriously? undecided

I find this attitude by the minority of members to be completely selfish, we rarely go out for the day with the m/h in this country but we do have a sign that would be put on the pitch should we do so.

I'm afraid that if it or our possession's were moved from our pitch then the culprit had better watch out surprisedyell I don't take prisoners laughing

Over there wink just a bucket and an EHU is all that's required.

Even when I've been out for a while (p'raps just to the showers) I sometimes have trouble remembering where I'm pitched.

Crystal - I can see from "latest activity" that you've been following the thread and "liking" posts in the past few minutes.

Would have been an ideal opportunity to clarify a couple of points - which site and how did this happen? How was it resolved?

I sympathise with MHers who are saying this shouldn't happen, would just like a few more details really. smile

Nothing would surprise me to things that could happen on any touring site anywhere............anytime

You only have to see how people behaviour everyday , on the roads , car parks , shopping centres , town centres , even on the street where we all live .........nothing is out of bounds nowadays for some........

I'm afraid people just don't care about others , that the sad  part but its true .👍

Of course I agree that this should not happen, and if it does should be dealt with by the wardens, but some idea of what happened next would be welcome and I can't see any reason (well actually I can) why it cannot be given?

If this reaches page 7 without input from opening posters, who have been outed as reading, then I shall have to revise my original "Trollometer" score, and up it to a scale 9! winklaughing

Some responses have been, shall we say, less than sympathetic, even critical.

Sometimes you need a thick skin to post on here.

Chrystal has given me enough information to answer the question posed. From reading  subsequent posts, it seems it is not a common occurrence although it is something motorhomers are aware could happen - pitch stealing has happened to us twice but in Germany and Switzerland.

As for Nav's comment about motorhomers, when we go out we take all our stuff with us and at the request of the CMC, leave a pitch marker. I wouldn't be that bothered about having a different pitch every night but I would be bothered if I had to go through checking in each time we returned - I think the wardens wouldn't be too happy either.

We use a pitch marker and also put up a small pop up tent ( which is bright orange) to put chairs etc in when we go out for the day , so it should be obvious that the pitch is being used ......

That should certainly be obvious enough Husky. We almost sited our caravan on an occupied pitch once. The MH owner had left a microscopic pitch occupied sign and this had fallen over into the grass at the back of the pitch. It was also green in colour. Fortunately we noticed it and moved on.

i pinched a nice tent and set of chairs from an unoccupied pitch the other day....dont think the owners were best pleased, but they shouldnt leave stuff lying around, should they?wink

after i nicked it, a nice big TA caravan snook in and took the empty pitch.frown

when he came back, poor old MHer had to drive round and round to find another pitch. well, they shoudnt leave their pitch empty should they?wink

(pitch with stuff or pitch empty, they just cant win......)frown

    shame really, but great entertainmentundecided

But, Aspenshaw, you have arrived on page 5 with the benefit of reading the bits and pieces the rest of us have managed to put together.

Sorry for the delay, touring took us away.

We changed, pitch, although Warden told us members should NOT remove other members possessions.

It will not happen again because I will post an outfit picture on the members naughty board😄😊😜

It definitely shouldn't happen as the wardens said.

Actually, I'm still a bit confused about how it did happen! Had you checked in and let the wardens know which pitch you were on? Normally you're given, maybe, a numbered key for the toilets or a fob for the site barriers. So when the newcomers did the same the warden would have known the pitch was occupied. Did you say which site this happened on Chrystal?
