After solving the problem with help from this forum of  the truma fan vent  on the combi boiler, l now have a problem that is a lot harder to solve without throwing more money at it. After checking all the systems in the new van we have acquired Coachman 460 VIP 2014 model, all are working has they should, apart from the Avtex aerial, tried to tune it in several times not getting anything, connected the aerial lead from the house to the outside connection no problem 120 channels received on Freeview plus all radio channels, so the television is fine plus so is the integrity of the coaxial cable in the van, not sure how to proceed with this one as we do use the bollards when connections are available, plus l have a maxi view satellite system but that's not the point when something is supplied it should be fit for purpose. l will wait until our next outing and try it again but don't hold much hope has where l live it has a good signal, l am thinking of upgrading the maxi view next year, not sure which at the moment whether to go for another portable or the crank-up fixed to the van. So we are limited at the present to using sites that have bollards with aerial connection or using the sat. We are happy has things stand with the Coachman as it only as this small fault which ain't their doing. Someone said switch the booster off, tried that no different, others say try a filter not sure which type, don't really want to throw money at it and definitely not going to change it for a new status, so its watch this space

If your van is in a strong signal area, I would work on a process of elimination. First I would disconnect the aerial lead from the booster & connect it directly to the TV - if no channels then you know the aerial is defunct. If you get channels, reconnect via the booster & try again. If no channels it's the booster that's defunct.

Which model of Avtex aeriel is it.....??

I use the STH3000 which overall I rate very highly, it nearly always picks up a signal wherever I am, but as I use a non avtex TV I have to use the (supplied) 12v booster.....

But my 12v booster appears to have an intemittent loose connection.......when the booster looses supply there is no picture.

I did ring the supplier who referred me straight on to Avtex, who frankly didnt seem bothered at all, said they had no spare boosters in stock and they would send me one when they got one in.....they never did.

Avtex........10/10 for technical capability and 0/10 for customer service in my eyes.....

Have you checked the aerial lead from the socket in the caravan to the TV? I had this problem with a new lead that worked fine at home but wouldn't in the caravan. swapped it for a proper piece of co-axial cable with screw on ends and it was 100%.
