Looking to purchase a portable aircon unit. Do not want to lug roof unit all year long just for the annual trip to south of France. Any advice/recommendations gratefully received.

I used one of these units a few years ago that I borrowed fro a friend as we also where camping in S.France. The only problem we encountered was the fact that it drew around 5 amps and we only had a 6 amp hook up, so watch the input wattage. Alternativly
just sit in the shade. Enjoy your trip.

At the risk of cross posting (literally)

and there was another thread I contributed to which the search does not reveal (in fact although air conditioning would seem to be a sensible search topic, no threads at all are highlighted - am I wrong?)

There was also another underbench unit but all are relatively expensive:

Thanks guys, I'm booking sites with 10amp supplies so it shouldn't be to much hassle. The portable units start about £280, so I think I'll go for the Toshiba powered Platinum 12000 BTU. I'll post something after the holiday in August. Cheers

Got a cool my camper one (a search on eBay got it sent to me from Germany a lot cheaper). Used in Lake Garda last year & it was just the job. Also in the house at home!
