Hi all,

Just re-joined the club. Was a member some years back when I had a caravan and young kids. They seemed to stop wanting to caravan when other things in life interested them more so we gave it up. Fast forward to today and we have now got a motorhome which we are determined to enjoy. My hobby is astrophotography so you may see me pointing a telescope at the night sky. If you do come over and say hi. I have had some of my work published in magazines and Sky at Night website which I am rather proud of. I do have my own Astro website but i won't bore anybody with that unless they request it. Apart from that my wife and I love walking and we have two little dogs who love to get dragged around.

I still have many questions about "motorhoming" so I am hoping these pages will help me.

We are mainly going to be using sites in the south east before branching out west and north. Looking forward to meeting with some of you over the next few months.

Clear sky's

Graham

There’s lots of info on the drop down menus at the top of this page & many people who post on here with good info. answering various questions. Good luck searching here for relevant topics that may be of interest to.  Guess you’ll be using your M'home alongside your hobbies of astrophotography & walking so enjoy your time away.

Hi and welcome Graham - I remember someone else talking about astrophotography a short while ago.  I certainly enjoy watching stars when I can find dark skies.

Hi Graham,  when you get down here to Cornwall seek out Caradon Observatory on the edge of the moorland between Liskeard and Launceston -  a small group of like minded people have set it up and run it.

Hi Eurortraveller,  Thanks for that suggestion.  I had a look on their website. Very interesting indeed.  Need to find a nice little site near there!

    Regards

Hi Graham, you may already be aware that the Elan Valley Visitor Centre in Mid Wales is classed as a Dark Sky Site. There is a lovely site less than a mile away, not a Club Site, but very well kept.

    Hi Notite,

I am familiar with the Brecon Beacons but never been that far up. Looks utterly beautiful there! That looks like a must visit location. I need to retire to get time to go everywhere I want to !!

Thanks so much for taking the time to give me that snippet.

    Many Thanks

    Graham

    Hi Notite

    Sorry to trouble you again.

I have found Llanfadog Fields which is a CC cl site. But I don't think it's the one you mentioned as you said it wasn't a CC. Any chance you could remember the name? Looks absolutely amazing in the Elan Valley.smile

    Sorry to be a pain

Welcome back to the Club, Graham!

With regard to you giving up touring when the kids got older, I hear that a lot.

I also hear that although they grow out of it as teenagers, they often come back to it themselves, when they start their own families.

Your hobby sounds fascinating.  You should be very proud of having some of your work published.

I hope you have many happy tours around the country and as Helen and Trevor said, ask away.  Our Members are the real experts!  smile
