The UK has a stunning coastline with some beautiful beaches and we have some great Club Sites near to the coast.

We also have some wonderful CL Sites on the Club's network with the option to search for a beach within 5 miles.

In honour of World's Ocean Day, on 8th June 2017, I wondered if anyone could recommend their favourite site by the sea and tell us why you love it?

St Agnes Beacon is great - just a short stroll onto the coastal path between Trevaunance Cove and Chapel Porth where you can walk on to Porthtowan and beyond. All the north coast from Padstow down to Lands End is within easy driving distance. Lovely area! smile

Wirral Country Park is our favourite even though only 40 miles from home. Fantastic views from the site across the Dee estuary to the North Wales coast. Lovely walk down onto the beach at the Country Park and along the beach to the Yacht club and back along the Wirral Way to the site. The views from the Yacht club at sunset are spectacular. The area has so much to offer with many other walks from site along the Wirral way and others at West Kirby, Hoylake and New Brighton.

Sorry Ro, I don't do CLs, but will suggest Dennis Cove at Padstow Cornwall instead. It's right on the Camel Trail cycleway heading inland to Wadebridge and Bodmin Moor, and is just a ten minute walk into Padstow town - foodie heaven- and to the little ferry across the river to Rock and John Betjeman/ David Cameron country .

Yellowcraig at quiet times remains one of our favourites, but not in school holidays. We spent 18 years using a small private family run site at Bodinnick near Fowey, used to be called Yeate Farm, now know as Penmarlam Touring Site. Still very nice. Lots of gorgeous CLs close to coast as well, too many to mention really!

We have just returned from Seacroft at Cromer which is a good site if you don't want to take the car or the motorhome off site during your stay. It's an easy walk into Cromer or you can use the very frequent bus services from immediately outside the site entrance so easy to get the Sheringham which I think is the Jewel of the North Norfolk coast. It's not the cheapest of sites but it does have a swimming pool and an onsite restaurant.

Some pictures of the site here

We've just come from a new CL with a view to die for....Viewfirth, East Mey. It comes under Thurso in the site directory. One can pitch up looking over the Pentland Firth to the island if Hoy, with Stroma away to the east and Dunnett Head to the west. With a bit of luck one might see a Whale or Dolphins from your pitch. There's a small beach less than a mile away where seals bask. Lots of bird life too...What more can one ask for?

It's just a pity that the map supplied with the Site Directory shows the site to be about 20 mls inland!! Doesn't anyone at HO ever check the details before before printing the map?

Trewethett Farm, stunning views plus  interesting coastal walks to Tintagel or Boscastle. Pembrey Country Park, miles of beautiful sands at Cefn Sidan beach. St David's Lleithyr Meadow, Pembrokeshire Coast National Park. North Ledaig, views over to Mull.

Incleboro between Sheringham and Cromer is our choice. Love the fragmented and tiered nature of it, with so many different pitch perspectives. Country side walks into either Cromer or Sheringham. Decent pub (the Village Inn) for ale and food within walking distance. And for us only 80 miles from home. So ideal for quick weekends.

Not clubs site but if you're wanting stunning coastlines look to The Outer Hebrides. Balranald is next to a white sand beach. No sea views from site. Plenty of birdlife, though. Kilbride Campsite on South Uist looks out to Barra.
