Looking for a new tow car - currently have a 2012 2.2 crv towing 2013 pegasus gt65 verona 100kg max on car and just under 100kg on van when empty. I've towed a variety of plant trailers and caravans - even towed trailers behind motorbikes!!! The latter being why I know the importance of correct loading and nose weight.

When using the car match the nose weight is sometimes stated as high as 133% am I interpretating the chart wrong??? Unless I put half a ton of scrap in the back wouldn't the nose weight still be illegal? But there's still a green tick alongside it????

js10. Do not know which car match site you are using, but try this one out for a comparison. www.towcar.info/outfitmatch  I tried this site and it gives you a more detailed weight ratio figure.

I currently have a Toyota RAV4 2012 model pulling a Coachman Pastiche 460, no problems at all. Hoping you get it sorted out.

Have you checked the noseweight of your van in running order (ie) when loaded for holidays. If that is the just under 100 kgs you mention then your new car details can be checked re max weight to tow and it's noseweight. My Volvo listed these in it specs and showed 140kgs noseweight and max tow Limit of 2700kgs. If you can't find the info in the specs then a phone call to the manufacturers customer service should give you the information.

But the Alko hitch will only take 100kg whatever your car will take!
