Towing covers advice

I've just discovered a small crack on the outer edge of my my front off side front window on my 2010 pegasus 534.  I imagine this has been caused by a stonechip, but there is no other damage on the van.  My question is which type of towing cover would fellow members recommended for my caravan, and if so which make & type is best  as prices vary wildly.

    You ask which is best, and the answer has got to be one which is tailor made to fit your make and model of caravan - with holes in the right places for the running lights. That means a dearer one! 

    But the time and trouble of ensuring a spotless dust free Caravan front before the cover goes on,  and then dealing with a wet, muddy cover on arrival somewhere, and finding somewhere to dry it, and maybe wash it too,  would all be too much for me.

    From what I see when touring 99 people out of 100 don't have them.

    We have one, driving down to Spain no problems with chips and mud and oddly enough the cover stayed quite clean, oh and it folds up quite small for storage as well.

    Hi, I had a 2010 534. I only had a half cover which was good for keeping lower half clear of stone chips, but didn't cover the windows.it fitted quite snugly as well t was held in place under the lower windows edge and down ne side in the awning rail. Then tensioned at the lower corners.

    the problem with the 2010 Baileys is that the only have one awning rail channel Which is on the nearside. When attaching a full cover, they rely on 4" round sucker (x3) that hold the cover to a the offside. They are quiet a heavy lump so you must make sure they are secure or it allowed to flap around the will do severe damage.

    If you do find one second hand make sure it's for the Pegasus! I made the mistake of purchasing a nearly new one for an Olympus and discovered that the Pegasus is wider and it didn't fit.

    i have a full towing cover for my current caravan and wouldn't tow without it. The mud and exhaust stains i find on it tells me what does hit the front, and I have a big 4x4 in front.

    Thanks for your replies so far, and I suppose I am lucky that I have never had a chipped/damaged window before in all my years of caravan towing.  The cost of a tailored cover at £175 + is certainly cheaper than the cost of a new small window at over £300.  Whoever said a caravan is a money box on wheels is certainly correct in this case!

    Time to raid the children's inheritance (again).

    I tow a Bailey Olympus 464 2010 vintage with a Protec full depth towing cover. It folds down to a two foot square and is very light. The self adhesive studs are 50mm diameter and aren't a problem at all. As for wetness the cover sheds water very quickly and is breathable and non-absorbent. Saves a load of road debris chipping the van.
