I am also considering that as well TF. I think Calor have made a major marketing blunder. The sensible option would have been to have the new version of the lites in place with free upgrade, before discontinuing the current one. That way they might keep their customers. There is no way I am going to go back to the heavy steel. Before this announcement I was looking at changing my second bottle for a lite, as they are so much easier to get into the locker.

I went to replace mine today , and main dealer in area told me they are being withdrawn . Same as I quite liked it , although dealer told me only 2lb lighter than standard cylinder.

They are much more than 2lb lighter. A full calorlite is about 10.5kg. A full standard 6kg propane is 15-17kg

nobody would have bothered swapping for around 1.8kg weight saving on two bottles would they?

A full lite weighs the same as an empty stell Calour, so I was told.

I know this is an oldish thread now,and another thread is currently running on here, but I have contacted Calor, and their answer is that the 6kg lites are basically not being made now,and what cylinders in circulation are still being used until the new replacements are ready. This is slightly different to just being withdrawn as I was led to believe.I wish now I had changed my soon to be empty (gauge has been on zero now for a whole week) at the recent CMC National where they had a trailer load.
