Hi all. Our Truma motor mover has just been deemed beyond economical repair. Apparently the gear box has had it. We are unsure what to do.

1. Repair the gearbox estimated £800

2.Have a new Power touch auto engage installed estimated £1,250.

Has anyone else had a similar predicament ? Or how much have you paid for a new mover?

Its on a Lunar Delta TI twin axle.

Thanks Mark

To be honest £1,250 seems reasonable. Particularly with Auto Engage. I prefer manual but that is a different matter.

I have seen a price quoted on a recent thread on another forum for the same kit on a single axle as £740 fitted.

I just had a Powertouch just fitted for £1000 but went for the manual on the basis there is a lot less to go wrong in some fairly stresssed bit of the system...but you may need auto?

Just got auto as my 73 year old shoulders could not longer cope.  It is wonderful.

I find a cordless drill/driver with an appropriate 'bit' works wonders and saves the old muscles!!

Depending on your mover ....... you'd  be there a very very long time trying to engage my movers with a cordless drill, like wise my previous caravan's mover. Some movers need levering into place with a reasonable shove wink
