Truma Combi Boiler Fault

Please can anyone help, we have yet another fault with our Truma Combi boiler. This time the code is E89H. I have phoned our dealer who says no-one can help until Tuesday morning but we are away now with no heating or hot water. We are sick to death of this caravan, have had it for approximately 2 years and have had nothing but problems with it. So much for Coachman quality!!!! Please advise if you can - your help would be really appreciated. Thank you.

    Sorry, I can't help but don't blame Coachman for the heating system as it's Truma, not Coachman, and used in many vans. Coachman have many problems but this isn't one of their making.

    Have you searched online for a solution?

    PS. Aren't the fault codes listed in the Truma literature which would have been supplied with the van?

    I have google the fault code and it comes up as:

    Error - Electronics Fault

    Combustion Air Motor Fault

    1st Action - Replace Electronic PCB

    2nd Action - Replace Combustion Air Motor.

    Looks beyond DIY so a wait until Tuesday looks likely.

    We had the same it turned out to be the combustion motor Truma sent out  a replacement and passed on for the dealer to fit under warranty .

    No heating you could purchase a small electrical heater not much money you will be surprised how soon it gets the van hot they come with a thermostat. We carry one for such emergencies. Hot water l am afraid its down to the kettle

    agreed, its a PITA but not insurmountable with a fan heater and a kettle, not that heating is really required at the moment.

    lets hope the dealer has all the necessary for a Tuesday fix.

    As said before, you can't blame Coachman for heating, hot water, refrigerator going wrong. It is the manufacturers of theses components that need sorting out. I have had Coachmans for a number of years and all the problems have been with items not manufactured by Coachman. After two years I'm trying to work out how to get the Truma combi boiler not to come on in the middle of the night and have never found the blow air heating good, hence I carry a small convector heater with me, warms the van in no time.

    Have to agree with NigelM our 1st Coachman is just coming up to its third year service and the only problems we have had have been with the Truma combi, Truma/Flowjet water system and Thetford fridge all standard components on many manufacturers caravans and motorhomes. Unlike our last Elddis which had to be repaired twice for considerable areas of water ingress which is the manufacturers fault.

    Not sure if this is a live thread but we have a minor problem with the Combi boiler in that we can't seem to get an 'auto' setting for the fan. It says leave it on 'high' and it could damage the motor!! Anyone else not find all the settings on the control panel? This is a brand new van.

    AFAIK, on our 2017 Combi 6E, the heating fan has 3 settings....

    Eco....which is the old default setting which adjusts fan speed in proportion to heat produced.....so, on 900w, you wont get the fan whirring much....on 1800w a little more, and so on.

    High....is a user controlled setting which makes the fan spin faster, despite it (on a low heat setting) not having much heat to push about. obviously a gas-only or mixed fuel setting will give virtually instant heat.

    Boost...is a user controlled setting that works like High but will turn any water heating off, to direct all power to the heater...a bit like when Boost on the hot water side closes down the heating to give a faster water warm up cycle.

    i dont recall an AUTO setting, sorry.

    We always keep the fan setting on Eco and  have found this works well. I assume you have a CP Plus Control so if you are unsure about how to set it there are some very good videos on You Tube.
