Leinward explorer
I'm considering fitting a caravanstore awning on my caravan for use with a leinward explorer legend privacy room or a complete caravan zip awning, or Fiamma CS light privacy room. Does anyone have knowledge of any pros or cons, I.e. ease of setting up, are they weather proof and stable, I will really appreciate any tips.

I have a Fiamma Zip awning on my caravan and find it very convenient as it's quick to wind out and retract. It has withstood many a storm. On the negative side, zipping the sides can be a little fiddly as even with my 6ft I need to stand on steps in order to reach the zip at its highest point.
Note that as it's a permanent feature of the caravan, it does reduce the payload somewhat and depending on the slope of the awning, the arms that swing out have to clear the caravan door when that is open. They only just do that on mine. It may be a problem on other caravans.

We have just bought a new Fiamma caravanstore to replace our well used 12 year old (See post in parts accessories). Easy to erect and take down but can be noisy in strong winds due to flapping. Always need to unsure it is secured with guy ropes or straps. Have used two Fiamma side blockers but now only use one as windbreak.

We have been using a Fiamma Zip since 2008 and have found it to be sturdy even in wind when the sides and front are attached. When abroad more often we just use the canopy, so the canopy "fabric" is now worn out and starting to come away from the roller.
Ours is the type which rolls up into a bag, which sounds different to what Lutz is describing, so can be removed easily, though does affect payload when in place. There are no metal bits to foul the door, we have it higher at the door side and drain off to the other side.
Hopefully we will be able to replace just the fabric, but I am concerned as to whether the zips matching could be a problem. Away at present and have it held together with waterproof tape!
If we cannot replace the fabric, we may just go with a simple sunshade type thing, as a new full Zip is quite expensive.
Being small, I need a set of steps to get up to the zips, and for rolling it up.
