Car Hire

Does anyone know where I can hire a car for towing my caravan? Problems with my Volvo XC60 means it may not be usable and I'm going away on Friday to Devon for just over a week. MTPLM of my Van is 1500 so I need something substantial. Any help greatly received Thank You

    Try calling Hertz. We've got one at the moment with a tow bar 

    edit - might have to be a pick up but they definitely have them

    Thanks - I called hertz who said they "definitely don't do hire cars with tow bars".

     

    Thanks anyway.... I think some cars may have tow bars but they aren't allowed to be used due to insurance issues.

    Ah. Ours is supplied by our insurance through hertz on a like for like basis so that must be the difference. 

    The tow ball is too high and they won't let us fit a drop plate if that's any comfort

    Thanks - they have a Discovery I can hire but it's £1536 for just over a week.  I need to make sure Volvo are paying the bill.....

    Have you spoken to Volvo customer services , as it should not be down to you to sort a replacement car !

    Thanks Huskydog I have spoken to the dealership who told me to get some prices.  I have just called Volvo customer services who are going to get back to me.

    Volvo XC60 has a common fault (EGR) and this is the 5th time in 2 months it's been in the garage! Not impressed so far.......
