Comfiest recliners
Hi, I'm looking to buy a pair of chairs that will double up as chairs and recliners with footrests built in. Any advice lease, or is this just personal taste? Thanks

Personal choice really with weight & price taken into consideration. Chairs with separate footrests that slot under the chair seat to use as recliners work for us. We can then use them without foot rest to sit at table outside more comfortably.

I see you're in Warwickshire, I can recommend a visit to Jacksons of Old Arley, they normally have a good range of chairs in a large display area where you can sit in and compare them and their prices are usually competitive. It's a great place for spare parts for vans too (like door catches etc) and the staff know their stuff.
I'm afraid chairs are one of those things, one that I find comfortable, someone else will find unbearable, so without sitting in them yourself, it's almost impossible to chose. We got nice Kampa recliners from Jacksons that we like, but they don't have a footrest, so not what you're after.

I would try as many as you can - and choose those which suit you best. We've had a variety over the years and now find that we prefer two different chairs - lightweight folding plastic ones for sitting at the table, and 'relaxers' for relaxing!
The best were bought from a Practical Caravan offer many years ago and were just so comfortable. Replacements from Go Outdoors were awful, we hated our Lafumas with separate footrests, and the two Lafumas we bought in France now need new elastics as they have lost their 'firmness'. Our comfiest at the moment are two we bought from Dunelm Mills for £58.00 the pair, but they aren't separate footrests.

We have two of these Quest brand which are perfect for use at the dining table or for relaxing. You can buy the footrests as an optional extra. All very lightweight.

we tried a pair of Isabella recliners yesterday which were fabulously comfortable but very heavy. Do manufacturers assume that everyone has a Chelsea Tractor or Executive Bus these days? Whatever happened to lightweight furniture for those of us on a payload budget? Has anyone out there found something on the lighter side? Would appreciate any recommendations!

I've recently treated myself to an Isabella Thor chair with the removable foot rest. Very comfortable.

We find that many current models of chairs (Quest for example) are too wide and therefore take up too much storage space. Unfortunately I believe it reflects the fact that average body size and weight has increased significantly in recent years!

We had the Quest Elire Sandringham chairs, like in Jill's photo. I found thlarge one (with the side tray) very good, with the exception of tbe tray itself, which we felt got in the way and became a bit of a pain! We had 3 of those chairs (one large and 2 standard - there were 3 of us). However, one of them broke, and as I am a bit OCD and had to have 3 that matched, we replaced them with Isabella chairs back in 2016. I didn't think you could still get the Quest Elite chairs, but if you can, I might well try and get one to match the two we have in store.

P..S. Just googled it and can't find anyone with them in stock, so they may well no longer be available.

I'm on the hunt for chairs at the moment, lightweight ones, our La Fumas are much too bulky so they stay at home and we 're using our old Outwell folding chairs (which have been great) but would like a higher chair, suitable for table level eating and relaxing too. I'll see what we come up with!
