Hi there

Is anyone towing with a Ford Galaxy 2.0 Zetec registered from around 2009?

I have a 57 plate Kia Sorento, lovely to tow with but guzzles the fuel both with and without the van.  I have to use my car for work purposes, so need one which is much more fuel efficient and could do with 7 seats.  The Galaxy Zetec gets a good review for towing from Practical Caravan Magazine but does not get a good result on 2 tow car checker websites for the nose weight.

My caravan is a 2016 Adria Adora Seine, MIRO 1430kg, MTPLM 1600kg and I've been towing for many, many years.

Advice/experiences,thoughts welcome, please.

Thanks.

    Hi,

We have a 2009 Galaxy, 2.0L .Fantastic car.....so flexible. Returns great mpg for every day  use, folding down all the rear seats you have a large van like loading bay.......we have seriously abused ours carrying all sorts of rubbish during house renovations and it still comes back for more. We tow a 1600kg Hobby caravan with no problems. I try to keep nose weight at 90kg and have no problems. It is front wheel drive so on a standing start wet road on a hill you will likely spin the wheels but thats the only negative I can think of. I would fully recommend a Ford Galaxy to anyone, either as a family car or for towing.

I had a 2007 Smax until, last year, virtually identical for towing. Brilliant car towing (2.0 tdci 140).  Not impressed with my new one though (2016)
