Campervan insurance
how can the caravan &motorhome club attract younger people into the club when they can't get insurance until they reach the age of 25 if they are lucky enough to get a quote it is so high they can't afford it even the club will not insure them yet they will take there money to become members

The economics of insurance for high risk groups is nothing to do with the club. If people can't afford the insurance I'm sure they can't afford to buy one.

There's a vast amount of caravan / motorhome insurance providers out on the web & that's not including insurance comparison firms .
My caravan insurance is due mid June , I'll certainly look at quotes from the CMC & C&CC but ultimately I know they will be beaten nearly every time .
Being a member of both clubs doesn't mean I'm committed to buy any of their services , the choices are vast you just need to look.......😊 that goes for all age groups .

Basically the clubs insurance is provided by a broker and not the club itself. There are companies out there that will take drivers under 25 and the clubs account should be big enough for them to get a deal that allows for this but the premiums will always be steep for those drivers. The brokers are letting the membership down and losing income by forcing you to go elsewhere.
As for cost you tend to get what you pay for. The two clubs brokers do use good reputable companies and if you find that someone is seriously undercutting them beware. Not all policies are the same and the service and standard varies quite considerably so beware of going just for the cheapest policy and make sure it is DEFACTO five star rated.

How can you be sure they can't afford to buy a campervan you don't even know them the issue is the lack of insurers out there & the only one found is expensive

I echo this. You only find out how good your insurance is if you're unlucky enough to make a claim. It is then that you find out what your premium bought, maybe too late. If you need to make a claim it's likely that you won't be in a very happy place and finding you weren't covered as you thought or having to argue and chase will not help the situation. It is very difficult to read all the policies and digest and compare but time we'll spend.

How can you start a discussion on an open forum and then get touchy with a poster for not knowing some one? I was asked to post my opinion. We pay a relatively low premium for our motor caravan and caravan mainly because we are considered a low risk and have a high NCD. Premiums are influenced considerably by the profile of the driver, and it is a fact that young people are a higher risk and so their insurance premium is generally higher, then they usually have not much NCD which makes the premium payable even higher. These matters are rather unavoidable and buying a vehicle has to be considered in the light of all the costs associated with it.

My experience of the Club's insurance is that they are more interested in low risk business. Suffice to say that I found a reputable Company with inclusive European breakdown for half the premium of the Club and they gave credit for no claims bonus on my car without needing to transfer. Others may have had a different experience.
