Sounds like a lovely day out Helenandtrevor

Unfortunately my symptoms have returned today, it's been about three days since I stopped taking even 1 tablet a day because of nasty dreams. I've taken one of my travel sick pills, which is basically what the prescribed tablets are but one is the equivalent of 3. I know mine don't make me dream.

Had to have a good laugh watching the weather forecast just before Countryfile. Neither the local or national offered rain for us overnight,  in fact Tomasz Schafernaker  said if you're in the east you can leave your washing out overnight. As he was speaking it started to rain here and is continuing nice and steady. Very welcome it is too. But it just made laugh.  Yes I'd got mine in along with the outside furniture cushions 😆

Lovely day again here in the Lakes, after two dull and dismal days.

A very pleasant days walking, back to caravan about 5pm and sat in the sun with a glass and a book. Not a bad life! smile

We had excellent weather for our visit to the National Trust Monks House with its history of Virginia Woolf. We had our picnic lunch in the garden.

It's raining here this morning in Worthing. We've just finished a light breakfast of cereal and tea. It was just as well we went out yesterday whilst the weather was good.

We had a good drive to The Norfolk Broads and made it in just over 2 hours.  Putting up the new awning took a while and I think we forgot the advice of 'keep your sense of humour' at one point undecided.  I hope we get better at it in time.  It is all done now and looks very smart. It was glorious weather yesterday but we had a really heavy shower about an hour ago and now it is just grey and drizzly.

Helen:  Interesting to hear that you went to Stanwick Lakes.  Is that the one near Thrapston?  Our son and DIL often go as it is only about an hour from us. We must try it sometime.

Glad you are having a good time moulesy.

Steady rain here this morning which is very welcome had some overnight too but it hasn't amounted to much yet. Waterbutt are 3/4 full so getting there very slowly. The flowers and plants shrubs look like they're breathing a sigh of relief to feel refreshed 😆.

Cleaning the house this morning 😲 off to friends for a catch up this afternoon. 😆

Picked up some nice new picnic ware from M&S this morning, it's going in the van to replace some melamine I've hung on to and never really liked so we're well up in the catering department! Got home and re-arranged the van cupboards for the new stuff, removed some things we haven't used....too many extra towels, this and that, so good job done.

We were supposed to have "lots" of rain today but I can't say it's much at the moment. Have got a few days left to get seedlings in etc before we're off on my mis-planned north and south trips!

Enjoy your trips away TDA and OnePutt. Hope the awning is good Millie?! smile

I got a phone call from work to ask me if I could do an extra shift this evening, so I'll be doing 6 to 9 tonight. The rain has stopped but there's still a lot of heavy cloud here.

Yes, you need to hang them for a few days to improve the flavour.😀 Sorry about the weather M but here near Blois in the Loire, it's a mini heatwave for a few days. 25C today and I think 28 tomorrow. However, it will be down with a bump towards the weekend, when we head up into Normanday. Only 12 to 16 forcast, although still supposed to be dry, which is the main thing.

Went to Clos Luce at Amboise today, where Leonardo Da Vinci spent the final years of his life and finished the Mona Lisa. A nice chateau to look round, set out as it would have been in his day, complete with studio and a holographic talking Leonardo. The picture does not do the holographic presentation justice. The gardens were very well laid out, with full sized constructions of many of his drawn inventions, such as a tank and helicopter. Then back for a nice swim, before putting the chicken on the BBQ.

Glad you arrived safely and got the awning up..eventually laughing

    Have a lovely time Millie.

Yes, it was the Stanwick Lakes near Thrapston, it takes us just over an hour to get there from home, but it's worth it, great for children but also quieter walks for adults too.

Now in the south of Switzerland, near Locarno, where it was 31 degrees when we arrived around 4pm......too hot!  Cooler now, plus have the air con on to cool the van.

Our previous site, just on the German/Swiss border was excellent.  Serviced pitch, fantastic toilet block, and no tourist tax.  Managed to get some washing done and hung out between the showers.  Yeaterday was warm so we ventured out to Lake Constance, which was very busy and touristy.

Fuel in Switzerland is very expensive it seems, Hopefully less so in Italy.

Lovely to hear from you KjellNN. Trust all sorted with water and heating? How's your wife's toes? Such warmth oh nice. We've had welcome rain but it's struggled to top up the water butts. Not cold but breezey.

Good to hear that you are having a better time now, KjeIINN.

Glad that you got the water /heating sorted (I knew you would! wink) and hopefully the warmer weather will help your wife's toes.

Your adventures make our own seem very staid in comparison.

Have a really good time KjellNN.  Sounds like all is well.  Hope the Alde problem has been sorted, but hopefully if 31 degrees continue, there won't be too much call for it.  It's been rainy here most of the day here at Blackshaw Moor.

Hope you are having a good time too Moulsey.

I finished work on time at 9 p.m. last night. It was still twilight as I drove back to the site. Then we had our evening meal.

We've got up to a lovely sunny morning here in Worthing and so far I have today off from work.

The rain finally relented at about 11 am so we took the opportunity to get out for a walk, sticking to the lanes around Hawkswick and Arncliffe just north of here. It's an area we know well, one of my regular training routes back when I was obsessed with running. (Mrs M would follow me on the bike cracking the whip if I dared to ease off! wink). There used to be a lovely camping/caravan site along this road, now taken over by a huge static van park! frown

Looks like more of the wet stuff on the way, so we've come back to the van for lunch and will, hopefully, walk from here this afternoon.
