Hi all

I am getting back into caravanning after a twenty year break

So am having to start over with vehicle and caravan

I have been looking around and quite like the configuration of the Bailey Ranger 500/5 with its bathroom in the middle and beds either end

Anyone got any thoughts on the Bailey or could suggest any other van with a similar layout

I am looking at model years 2006 to 2008 on my budget

Any thoughts or advice appreciated

The Practical Caravan magazine, every month, has a caravan layout section, and indicates which caravans are a particular layout.  It should help you identify which other manufacturers make a similar model.

The layout is very rare in newer vans but most manufacturers did this some years back so it is more a case of checking adverts to find them.

Thanks for the reply, I have been waiting a week for my post to get through, in the interim I have been checking around for other similar layouts, still prefer the Bailey 500/5 so far although the Avondale Dart is quite nice as well

I gather the bathroom is not exactly roomy on the mid layout but haven't set foot in one to know if its something we can put up with

    Appreciate the feedback

Thanks also for yours, as you will see I have done a fair amount of checking this last week so have a list of potentials, although the Bailey is head of that list so far

Hope to be heading in your direction as and when we get one, many of my lot were from Lanarkshire, my father was born in Glasgow

    Appreciate the feedback
