New Logo

I think that is the wrong attitude. The new sinage was a mistake and needs correcting and only pressure from membership will bring that about.

Good luck with that one dm, I'll run with Tinny's suggestion-far less stressful

I think the problem is that the way some members express their view on Club Together tend to verge on the angry rather than a more considered approach and as such I suspect that Club Management find it easy to disregard those views. So in a sense TW is right to suggest enough is enough. I think the way forward if members want things to change is a considered e-mail to the DG and or Chairman putting forward a case for changing the colours/design. If between them they start getting full inboxes they may start to reconsider. It is very easy to fire off a quick message here or on Facebook but beyond the relief of frustration I doubt that it achieves much especially in the way those views are often expressed.

also the proportion of Ct uses compared to the membership is I would imagine very small, even though very vocal! Remember that thread on booking day? Tens of posters who we had never seen posted, and we have never seen then again mostly.
I know it i inconceivable to us that there are some people who use the club and its sites and don't use CT, (which I personally think is some form of character flaw) but there it is!

You are no doubt right about changing anything in the short term and I expect the Club would come in for renewed criticism for wasting more money. However I would like to think that in the longer term to Club would come to realise that the colours don't really work and would reconsider the choice. The previous light green upgrade to Club site sign colours I thought was both modern and suited the ambience of the Club more than the new colours. I am not convinced that consultation on such changes work because you first have to convince people there is a need. I often do YouGov surveys and from time to time they test out how people react to rebranding of famous names usually given several options. That sort of survey is a better option in my view.

I've just lost a post, reply button looked ok. Hope it doesn't turn up as I'll be repeating myself. Will now try again.
I feel the new logo has all the signs of being designed by committee, it's safe and dull and with the dreary dull reds and orange is only a few white pigment drops from being beige. Anyone with colour blindness on this spectrum will probably miss the differences in colour. Originally I thought it was ok because it is indeed "safe and dull."
Many years ago I went to a brand new comprehensive. The school colours had been chosen but the badge design was put out to all concerned, "students", staff and parents. Surprise! One of the Dads was a designer and came up with an innovative design. It was good to wear a badge that was both unusual and modern. Not that I'm a great badge wearer but it inspired budding designers about what was needed when you produce a new design.
An opportunity has been missed by the club to engage all members with a similar competition, we could have voted on a short list.
I don't think anything will now change for a long time.

The new companies "corperate?" Image ? is at stage one? a real Hotch Potch of colours , what with a least three new diferent coloured signs plus the two shades of old and "new" greens, that were not transfered (more cost to come?),to achieve what??

We have just returned from 8 days at Malvern Hills Club Site. Not been there before and found the road ok but drove straight past the site looking for a green sign. Silly us - should have known they had been changed. The new ones are just about invisible!!! Insipid colours and not at all eye catching. Also, the wife asked for a sites plaque and was given what can only be described as a child's toy disc.
Come on Club commitee, you can do better than this surely. we didn't ask for the name to be changed so why do it. It was not necessary and a waste of money. What about the tenters in the club. Are we going to be called the Caravan, Motorhome and Tenter's club soon?
Also while on the site we noticed several motorhomers driving off site with the waste taps open just letting it run all over the roadway. Thanks folks - that's very hygienic!!
That's what you get for letting them in the Caravan Club - oops shouldn't say that.

No you shouldn't say that but I hope your comment makes you feel better. If it's meant as a joke try indicating as much by using smileys.
You will, of course, have checked it was waste water being drained and not surplus fresh water.

Personally I think the name & logo change has been fantastic. Following the announcement earlier this year, whenever there's been nothing entertaining on TV to watch, I've just come on here and had a right old laugh at all the ridiculous and hilarious fallout from it. Comments like:
It's wrong, needs changing and pressure from members will bring it about
I'm seriously thinking about cancelling my membership
Why wasn't I asked
The new logo has done nothing whatsoever to enhance the reputation of the club
I would like to ask if the new logo is actually legal
The disgraceful waste of money the new logo has caused
Whatever happened to the statistics I requested on the numbers of members polled
Senior club officers should be offered early retirement
A private room and a loaded revolver more likeMaybe a name change to The Victor Meldrew Touring Club would have been more appropriate.
Has it stopped members actually doing any of things that could be done before - No
Does it affect our stay on a Club site pitch - No
Can we still visit all the great sites in great locations across the UK- Yes
Does it actually make any difference whatsoever - No
Has it given rise to a pompous sense of self-importance -Afraid soThis post sums it up really...
"the change of name and logo has obviously caused trauma in many quarters. People are having to lie down in darkened rooms and their lives have been deeply affected and will never be the same again. Perhaps we should show some compassion for these poor souls who are now but shells of their former selves"
No doubt the nonsense will rumble on in one form or another, but all it does is reconfirm why the Club is trying to move forward.

63,
I respect your viewpoint, which I accept is as valid as mine. But the fact remains that the membership was not consulted, and the first they knew about it, it was already fete acompley. I am sorry but having been a member since 1979, ( With a short break 80-84) I would have expected more.
I am sure that you will also respect my decision, not to renew my membership in July. I have always been a member of both main clubs, and had decided that due to retirement & reduced funds, that I would cease membership of C&CC. This change has reversed that decision and I will now change to leaving the CC. ( I do not recognise the new name).

63 With club sites closing, falling behind in quality to the commercial section, our biggest gripe is the way Ho use OUR funds. They could be better used on improving the basics not on some ego trip. This waste of monies should have had some members imput. Like Tigers fish I have cancelled my DD. There may be a lot more like us out there.

Just been looking - We have been away over 50 nights this year. On average we excede 150 per year. Appart from1 stay at St Davids all the others have been on commercial or Cls. A few years ago it would have been exclusively CC. The loss of income from us alone to CC is high so in the short term are they concentrating on the wrong sector. Cant see much evidence of trying to attract back us oldies.

I think the way the new colors/logo etc. were introduced was wrong, the money spent could have been better spent on a host of other things but my experience of the new entrance signs has not been bad. If you're looking for the old light green sign then you'll be likely to miss the entrance, look for the white and light blue sign and you'll find it. The white sign does stand out. If you think you'll be able to see the logo from any distance you must have more faith in your eyesight than I have in mine.

Another consequence of the rebranding is that the numbers on the pitch markers had to be changed from green to blue. Has anyone noticed this?
It's a shame that the Wardens valuable time was taken up by removing the old green numbers as the blue ones are difficult to see on blue non-awning pitch pegs!!

Funny that JD6620. Earlier this evening I posted a similar photo though the logos were more prominent. I was however, making the same point. Good to know I am not alone. However within 10 minutes of posting ...and 2 "likes", the photo has disappeared leaving only the square box. I wonder why??

The new logo is quite similar to the new Calor one. Some lazy advertising executive made his money easily that day!

My little protest against the new logo and wasteful cost involved is my refusal to display the new window sticker. Long will the original logo remain on my van's window!

Whilst I don't particularly like the new colours on our current trip we have been to two Club sites, both of which required long range identification of the Club signs to know where to turn into the site access road. On both occasions the signing proved to be perfectly OK. Its all very well trying to associated the new logo with those used by other businesses but its not really what its all about. As members we need to be able to identify where site access is and from our recent experience it works on that level.

The new logo looks like the club is being sponsored by WALLS ICECREAM, it is so non descript that it's difficult to see what it represents.
We are told the change was made because oh the high number of members who are motorhome owners, as I understand if they are still less than 50% so why the change?
As Members only club one would have expected consultation and a ballot before such a significant change. However we have been left with a decision taken by the 'city fathers' who we are told act in our best interests. Perhaps they would like to give us 'the members' a breakdown of the financial impact on the club for all the changes that have been made.
