hi

just had my renewal for next year £103.50 for premium U.K. Policy, pulled up green flag on comparison site what appears to be same cover plus 90 day euro cover £67.00.

Called mayday and apart from being rude and wouldn't let me get a word in said was down to the club who say the price and it has to be paid by all members, emailed club they are looking at my complaints, the guy at mayday was more interested in him canceling my current policy then listening to my gripe

question

does anyone out there have the premium policy and do they pay the same annual fee.

Sorry Stewart, they told me years ago that MayDay was UK only and couldn't be extended to cover Europe so I quickly lost interest in it. I hope you get a good answer.

I think you need to check the cover as what i can see there are weight and size restrictions with green flag against mayday also i cannot find the double recovery with green flag,

There is a 7m caravan length limit with Green Flag but none with Mayday plus other slight differences/advantages with Mayday. Having just changed to a longer van I also changed to Mayday but otherwise would not have bothered.

Obviously the CMC gets a commission on Mayday as with all their advertisers, that's the grease that allows the world to turn.

If I was touring abroad then I would have to look at the CCC RAC cover.

I think you will find the Green Flag policy does not cover you if the caravan breaks down, if the caravan is not attached and does not have the double assistance if you need it. You need to compare the two wordings very carefully, as I may have missed something, before you jump out of Mayday.

This if I am right could leave you seriously short on cover if you go for the Green Flag option.
