There seem to be a lot of duplicate threads about at the moment! Another gremlin in the works no doubt. I will report any I come across, hope someone can sort them out!

This seems to be a problem common to other parts of the site. Despite some members complaining that they could not post a review of a site supposedly because they had already reviewed that site in the last year the last two sites I have visited had multiple identical reviews by the same at person at the same time displayed. Two or three duplicates seems to be common. Obviously there is a common data input issue. May be just due to the person posting or reviewing being too enthusiastic and hitting the enter key too many times because the site runs slow.

I am pretty sure it's down to the exceptionally slow response times when pressing send. They have managed to prevent people posting duplicate posts within a thread but not when starting a thread. It would be good to have some acknowledgement/acceptance that the site is running so much slower than it should and what measures are being taken to overcome this problem. All the problems on this forum are down to the willingness or not of the Club to invest in the IT time to get things sorted and the length of time it takes to sort relatively simple things suggests the Club are unwilling to invest that money?

It's an ambitious project, but if started should be delivered correctly.

I have to double click almost everything when using an IPad, a brand new one as well! It tends not to respond on first click. The whole site is exceptionally slow as well.

When I went onto Live Chat to discuss issues with website, the best response I was given was "can you use something other than an iPad?" Yeah, like things are any better on my Mac Book Pro! The site is just not that compatible with Apple devices.

Is there any money left to make the website work? and of course now there .is face thingy and all the other latest vanity projects , what chance is there of sorting this website,   reading reviews of cc sites it seems money is in short supply for even essential work on some of them also😟

That's a terrible answer to give you and the appropriate response is probably "No, but I can use another forum".

I am not sure it is just restricted to Apple products in terms of sending a post. When I submit a post the reply button offen goes grey and just sits there like that and there seems to be a delay before I get the little connection circle starting to work and its not until then that the post actually gets sent.

Obviously there are wider issues with Apple products and the forum which we all know about but they don't seem to be acknowledged here on the forum. Some of that is because Apple's don't use common cross platform software solutions. I have no idea how difficult that is to make the forum more user friendly towards Apple users but given that it takes an age to get quite simple things sorted I think that the prospect of the forum being more Apple friendly  is some way off?

I use only a laptop, with either Windows 7 (mine) or Windows 10 (OH's) and the 'grey send button' is the same on both, and takes for ever to load the reply to a post, or a first post starting a new thread .  I can quite see that many people think there has been no response, and click again, possibly leading to these duplicate posts.

My way of dealing with this now is to copy my post, re-open the Caravan Club website in another tab, (where I am still logged in) and if my post isn't there, close down the original open website and post in the second one.

However, I still think that some of the duplications is somehow a flaw in the forum 'code', because starting a new thread with exactly the same title as an already existing thread somehow links the two together and you can get these strange hybrid posts, where you can post in one and in some views it appears in one, or both, or even neither..

This new forum has now been up for 6 months (?) and the fact that it is still appalling is incredible. As others have said, I honestly don't think the club are actually interested in resolving it or have the worst IT team ever. The poor responses from the club are embarrassing.

My particular favourite glitch is where someone "closes" a thread......yet you can still post! Marvellous website.....
