New to caravaning - Help / Advice
My Wife and I have just purchased a 2 year old Adria Adora Thames.
I would like some guidance on the following:-
Motor Mover?
Secure wheel lock?
Microwaves?
20 inch televisions?
I would appreciate any recommendations please.
Regards,
Kevin Bell

Check out the info under the 'Advice and Training' tab at the head of the page as it covers a lot.
Powr movers are very good and have great customer service.
Choose a lower power microwave rather that the super-duper fast 900w jobs and, of course, one that physically fits.
Unless you specifically need a 12v TV, I'd go for whatever your local supermarket has that takes your fancy.

Unless you have a lightweight two berth motor movers are a great help especially if you need to get the caravan into a tight corner. We have three different makes on our caravans and frankly there is not a lot between them. The cheaper ones have manual actuation though, so if you go for this, get it demonstrated to you as some might be too stiff for you as they may need considerable effort.
For wheel locks if you have an ALKO reciever then this is the most secure on the market but it is expensive. Whatever you get I would aim for Sold Secure Gold for the highest standard. Some are obviously better than others so check them out carefully before buying. My own suggestion would be the Nemisis.
If you do not have a microwave fitted then as they need ventilation you are looking at a counter top one and not all will stand up to the harsh ride of a caravan so it is a risky purchase. Most caravans have a Daewoo fitted but they are by no means 100% fault free looking at postings, but our two have been no problem. They do a caravan version for a price though.
Televisions need only to be a standard 240 volt unless you are going to use without a hook up. Frankly any make with Freeserve will work. I keep the original packing and carry it in the car boot to protect it. If you are not using mains all the time you need a dual voltage one and probably a solar panel and that is getting expensive.
Hope this helps.
