Setting up of tv
We have just returned to caravan ingredients after retirement and would like some advice.
Our van is 2 berth and have no sockets for a TV.
It would be handy in the morning or evening to switch on.
Any advice would be helpful. Is a satellite dish the easiest and for decent reception.

If you are only in the uk I would go for the satellite, although other peeps on here will disagree. My reasons:
1. Available anywhere in uk. Many sites are situated in areas with little or no terrestrial reception.
2. Very easy to set up. Line up the dish using a compass or satellite finder. Run the cable through a window and connect to a freesat box, or freesat enabled tv. Fine tune the dish direction using the on screen reception indicator. You may find it takes a while the first time but it gets easier. If you are a sky subscriber, just take your sky box with you.
3. Job done. Time for a bevy.
An expensive option is to buy a stand alone self seeking dish but these cost upwards of £1000, and are heavy to carry. I only use mine when abroad. Use manual one in uk.

Sattelite dishes can be a problem in sites with tress although the wardens can usually let you know the best area for picking up a signal. For Freeserve conventional aerials that stick on the caravan or in the ground are relatively cheap and work well . You can either run the cable out of a window or some makes had a socket in the front locker.
