Toilets

Perhaps the Club are more concerned about water conservation than efficiency?
There are many sites where the toilet cisterns refill on low pressure, presumably from a big header tank in the toilet block's loft. In addition each cistern's level, when full, seems fairly low, resulting in a poor flush. Many times I have had to wait to flush 4 or 5 times as the "quality" of flush is so poor. As a result, I think more water is sometimes used rather than less.

I have wondered that too ,the place I worked at was a new building so I wondered if it was designed to be water efficient in toilets ,that doesn't work things are left when you just flush once then go ,out of interest all you guys does the urinal in the men's having a flushing system ??? when you are in the room you should see or hear it flushing ,believe me that is something you cannot save water on as they will stink !!!!

This is very true. I have done the same.
I can well imagine that plenty of people cannot be bothered waiting for the cistern to refill and hence the mess left in toilets.
It doesn't save any water by filling up slowly. A full tank is still required.

And me also, particularly at high density places like roadside Services. However, I do feel a bit conspicuous sometimes, hovering by the door waiting for someone to enter or leave and nipping through before the door shuts - or stick my foot or elbow into the gap to open the door. The loo doors on the Newhaven - Dieppe ferries are vicious; like Arkwright's till, and will crack yer ribs if you're not quick enough.
My D in Law even insists that my son uses wet wipes after parking the supermarket trolley (won't let him put the bags on the ground, they have to go straight into the boot) and before getting into the car and touching the steering wheel. Where does one draw the line?
Especially worrying in view of the reducing efficacy of antibiotics

Have just read two very recent reviews on the Cheddar club site .Both mentioned problems with the flush systems in the gent's toilets. This is something that the club should rectify asap on all troublesome sites.Spend some of our money on something important. However I'm NOT making excuses for some filthy members that we unfortunately seem to have.

Just another thought.....As all sites are not Members only, maybe it's not the Members who are guilty?
Perhaps the Club should introduce (as mentioned in previous comments) signs or 'poo posters' at the reception desk on check-in?
If this fails, perhaps the introduction of DNA testing and those that fail, never be allowed to use the network again?

Slightly different but still on toilet issues. Yesterday on a private site in Pickering someone had emptied their toilet waste into the elsan tank and blocked it, they just walked away after closing lid leaving it full to the brim with effluent. So as the next person to use it we were faced with dealing with it,
The site staff appeared quickly and sorted it out but it's just another example of how some people have no thought for others.
Lovely site by the way. Bulls head, Pickering.

Must admit we are concerned about the amount of folks who do not wash their hands after using the loo .Straight out of the cubicle and out the door. Other half say's it is the same in the ladies DIRTY BUGGERS.
Being a Plumber I deal with crap every day!!

But surely any flush would be on par or better than the thetford, I think it is just dirty buggers who do not care.😟

Same here. With more than 2 people in the caravan, I can see the practicality of using the site facilities, but the majority of caravans we see seem to have only 2 people in them.
Same with showers. I was recently chatting to our neighbour on site who had a big, brand new motorhome. He was telling me all the great things it had, including a fantastic large shower room. I felt like saying if that is the case, why did I see you at 8 o'clock yesterday morning in the pouring rain heading for the shower block with your towel and washbag? According to the reviews, this showerblock is clean, but has seen better days, unlike his in his 62 grands worth of motorhome!
