Is VW CC a good tow car

Hi all have an opportunity to get a VW 2.0ltr GT CC new 150ps manual at a really good price, however weight of kerb is 1573kgs.  CC club gives it a 94% match against my Bailey Brindsi max weight 1450kgs.

On Tow car info its gives a % figure of 88%.  I have towed for 20 years plus so have no worries going higher then the 85% guideline and wonder if anybody tows with a CC and what experience they have .  Be appreciated.

    Not sure why the two sites give different figures but I suspect the CC one has not allowed 75 kg for the driver. If I am right the 88% figure should not be a problem for someone experienced in towing and VWs are always regarded as some of the best towcars. I would try it and see just taking it easy until you build up confidence.

    The club did have a page allowing you to check reports on tow cars tested but I cannot see it anymore but someone might be able to locate it to see if the car is there

     If you go on auto trader and put the details in as though you are going to buy the car there are often reviews by buyers and sometimes they mention towing.

    Thanks Oneputt and Wildwood for comments appreciated wee bit academic now as wife changed mind and getting a 2wd tiguan which I don't have any concerns with and it will replace my BMW when I PCP finishes
