Hello.

hubby and I were strolling around the caravan site last night and saw this amazing gazebo next to caravan with 3 very strong straps to keep it secure. Straps a bit like they have on isobella awnings.

went back and chatted with owners who said it was great in a storm.

do you think these would be allowed on most caravan sites as I really like the idea of them instead of an awning

thank you

I doubt it to be honest. Gazebos are generally not stable in bad weather and liable to cause damage if they blow around the site.

I have a feeling the club does not allow gazebos but you need to check directly with them.

Commercial sites - who knows? Check, check and check again as we can only speculate.

I have seen gazebos on several club sites so do not see that as a problem, but they need to be small enough to fit on the pitch alongside your motorhome, and as said before they are not as stable in winds so might have to be viewed as a fine weather only option.

We have used ours along side our caravan . And now use it with motorhome .like  a free standing awning. never had a problem with it  in storms .it has several pegging positions  and lot more sturdy than  a normal garden gazebo.most comments have been where can I buy one .its brill in France when sat of an evening  mosquitos can't bite you

It seems not to be a conventional gazebo but more of a camping shelter, see here

    Yes that is it David

it is a bit more like a utility tent when camping under canvas.

i rather fancy it instead of an awning to keep the chairs dry.

i like the fact it is pop up

Without fastening it to the caravan or motorhome I suspect it will blow away in heavy winds. For that price I would consider a pitch awning. 10 mins to put up.
