At OP, if I could ever help with the limited knowledge I have gained from here (and other places), I would gladly help you or anyone elsewink

    I like DaveFL2 post:

" If I do in the future by doing all what needs doing then tough, I do not care, you just wait"

Better watch out for the newbie coming soon to a CC site near you!smile

That's rather pedantic to criticise my dyslexic tendency😊

We have renewed and still enjoying :) , as I said they were few and far between but we are all individuals and all different some are friendly by nature others arent.

My reply wasnt meant as a deterant more of a encouragement that while yes you do get the ODD one who isnt friendly or helpful dont take it to heart as they are few and far between

The wardens themselves told us that due to its location it was very unusual to get members from further afield than London and the home counties, so they forget that not everyone knows the area when we had to ask directions to somewhere and they gave us the road and suburb it was in.. we had to askmfor postcode for sat nav that was their reply.

But yes  more and more people are 'in their own world' but then sadly isnt that the society we are becomjng (spoken as someone who grew up in small villages etc where everyone knew everyone and now I live in a big town dont like the 'anti social'  aspect that many do not even know their neighbours names.)

Very unlikely in my opinion. We stayed at Abbey Wood last September. There were folk from all over the UK and Europe as well. The majority would pass the time of day, including the Germans and Dutch, who had much better English than my Dutch or German. Had fairly lengthy conversations with several, when walking to the station or bus stop, swapping places to visit, best routes etc.

In replying to this.  I'm heading on my first trip for the year today. (yipee)

When I pull up on the site, if I'm blocked in.  I'd happily turn off my engine. Get out of the car, stretch my legs and ask if I could offer a hand.   As had been said, it's a holiday, and I want to relax.   Doing this, will set the mood for the stay.  Offering to help, firstly gives a chance to get the job done quicker.  It breaks the ice with someone on the site too.  So it's an opportunity to make a friend.  Simple really.
