Now & Then
As I have said previously, we returned to caravan ownership last year after 27 years when we last had one.
Lots has changed but I have noticed that nobody waves/acknowledges anyone they see on the road anymore Just a sign of the times I suppose?
Anyone else remember those day's.

Some of us m/homers still do it, Milo but with the increased traffic in both Quantity & Speed, I can understand Tuggers being rather more wary. Its easier for me, I just raise the fingers of my left hand while still having a grip with my thumb.

I remember AA men saluting and traffic toddling along at 45mph on single carriageway main roads. It's all part of history and conditions are very different now.

We were a bit late, mid 1980's, to recall caravan wavers, although OH can recall it as a child. Usually get a nod, wave, finger raise, flash or smile from most MH owners.
As TW says, traffic conditions are very different nowadays, don't expect anything on motorways, things are too busy!

Really? I haven't noticed

I agree that the roads are very different now but am not convinced that's the reason.
One of my other hobbies is classic cars, I have a 1973 Triumph Stag I fully restored back in 2009. It's very common in the classic car world to to a get headlamp flash or raised hand from other classics cars you see out and about.

Don't get me started - flashing lights, waving.... All distractions from the serious business of safe driving.

Was there not a Monty Python sketch about hierarchy?
