Using metal reflector plates on bike rack in Italy
Having purchased an expensive square metal reflector plate to put on the rear bike rack of our motorhome (as requested by law), we now turn to the problem of how to safely fix it in position. We cover our bikes with a large net we got in the Netherlands which stopped the flapping and eventual tearing of the nylon bike cover so would like to fix the plate to the top of the net. Our main concern is that cord or mini elastic spiders will eventually undo in the wind caused by travel and then cause an accident. Any ideas??

We don't have the net covering over our plastic bike cover but we have used two elastic bungees on our signal board for years without any problems. It's always been secure and helps keep the bike cover from dislodging and keeps it in place.
BTW did you know the signal board has the be the right way up to be legal in Italy?

Cable tie marker board to netting?

We use a heavy duty bike cover from bags4everything which has a built in envelope slot for the diagnol board. One side for Italy and the other for Spain. Different signs for spain and Italy.

I have used cable ties passed through the small holes in the metal plate to form a loop big enough to use bungie cords as per DK. However, I can never remember which way up the board is suppose to go!
What is the difference between the boards used in Spain and that used in Italy other than the Italians insisting it should be made of metal? Any other difference is news to me.

Apparently the text on the board has to be at the bottom.
