A standard lead acid battery, sealed is what most use.

I can recommend Banner Energy Bull as a good brand,

Recently had a motormover fitted and was cautious regarding my basic sealed lead acid 85A battery (Diamond Leisure), but its doing a brilliant job and have no need as yet to replace or upgrade it.

Tracy the link you posted is rather out of date by many years.

It doesn't actually mention the different types of batteries.

Ian's post above is somewhat more sensiblesmile

PS. I just reread the article and would suggest that it is revised as soon as possible!

If you go on to the NCC website thencc.org.uk and search under "battery" you will see that there is a classification scheme for leisure batteries - Class A,B,C depending on intended use.  There is also a list of battery manufacturers.  All you need to know really.

     Hi

I'm sorry for any confusion. I am not a technically minded person so I have forwarded your comments on to our Technical Team.

    Best Regards

Its disappointing that our club is not offering better technical advice. The reasonfor my query is that we have been experiencing difficulty with our Truma mover. We have taken our caravan direct to Truma in Derby. They have repaired the mover , this is the third repair!!

but they have also suggested that our battery is faulty. Our caravan is three years old and no faults were found at a recent service.

we have now purchased a new battery , but we wre hoping for some technicsl advice on modern leisure batteries .

Hopefully you have now got what you want. With a mover you should buy a 110 Ampere-hour battery and preferably of a make that has been tested by NCC.

The (late) Ken Wickersham wrote an excellent article in the Club magazine some time ago and it is accessible through the archive on the web site.

For a seemingly simple device, batteries behave in quite complex ways. Most advice tends to be quite simple to avoid confusion and misdirection.
