Moan..
I'm wondering what is (in your own humble opinion - and I do realise that one person's bugbear is another person's 
) the most odd moan you've read on the forum?
Whilst not on the forum, I did hear a woman complaining at a recent CMC site that the shelf life of the milk in the club shop was a full two days less than the Tesco down the street...

Oh, don't start another moaning thread! The place is full of them and some are quite vitriolic.

This forum should be about sharing information and helping our fellow members. Unfortunately it is too often used to vent problems which may or may not be shared by other members. It is one thing to identify a genuine area of concern but many posts seem just to reflect an individual's thoughts about something that does not suit them rather than it being a problem that affects everyone.Ha ho.

Apparently a CMC member complained to the club about aircraft noise at the Buxton site ........caused by planes landing / taking off from nearby Manchester airport .......the mind boggles 💆

I agree with David that all too often the forum is used for complaints about individual grievances which would be much better taken up at the time with the site staff rather than opening up yet another argumentative thread on CT.
I remember someone who stayed at Shawsmead complaining about the cows mooing in the farm over the road!
And only a couple of days ago someone who stayed at Hawes suggested the club should do something about the neighbouring farmer's sheepdog barking continuously!
Still, it gives us something to smile and shake our heads about.

Sometimes a moan is an after the event "get it off your chest post" then others join in and say you should have done A,B or C. Then an argument ensues about A, B or C.....ad infinitum.
Maybe we should just have a "Don't Bottle It Up Thread" no replies allowed....

People seem to rather moan about things In reviews or in the comments book on sites (anonymous )rather than be seen to be at the time ,the silly persons they are
Noise from emergency vehicles (sirens)when staying on city centre sites
Abbey/Church bells when site close to them

again...to reiterate, meant as a light hearted thread...
here is an example.... stayed in Castleton last year and two women were talking in the warden's office about how they wished they hadn't booked this particular site and had felt misled by a fellow member, as the walk down the river (near Hathersage i think) had not afforded them views of any otters and someone had specifically told them the year before at another site, that they would see some...
You are correct PhilHeller, this was an individual grievance for these two women but, rightly or wrongly, it did make me

That is so funny Kdee, for all the wrong reasons! Had the two ladies walked/driven the other way, towards Chapel en le Frith, there are dozens of otters.......at Chestnut Farm, an otter sanctuary!

Being a positive sort of chap it really irritates me when I read in Reviews or elsewhere that: "We couldn't fault".... this, or "We can't fault"... that, as if they were seeking disappointment and are miffed at being denied the opportunity for a jolly good moan.
It would be so much better to accentuate the positives; e.g. "The showers were powerful and hot", or "The grandchildren really loved the regular Sunday morning displays in the adjacent field from 7 a.m. by the local model aero club".

Did once have a neighboring caravanner at Culloden site complain to us that the rooks were awfully noisy when going to bed at night
and the sheep in the adjacent field never stopped Baaaahing does make you wonder at times if these folk should be allowed out on their own

Last year just as we were arriving on a CL site, the farmer in an adjacent field was muck spreading, right up along the adjoining hedge. The CL owner was very apologetic but we told him not to worry it was just our bad luck.
I hate to think what a moaner would make of that situation.
I was so upset that we are going back again this year.

Not a moan, but again funny. OH set off to Cornwall on his own last Summer, chose a gorgeous farm CL middle of Dartmoor for a few nights. He had of course picked sheep shearing day, so lots of baaing and hoy hoying for a day. Chatting with farmer, all done for year, so he got up next morning thinking "quiet bliss now!" Ha ha, he was next to Lydford Range and it was Live Firing day......guns, mortars, ratatat all day.....! So funny. He loved it though, that's what CLs are all about, expect anything!

I was seated at a café in the Pyrenees next to a very unhappy young Lycra-clad American lady on her cycling honeymoon
who was robustly berating her new husband with some pretty ripe language for not telling her that the 'hills' would be so steep.0 -

Well we've just got back from a weekend away so here's my moan.
The sun shone all weekend forcing us to sit outside. Neighbours were lovely, wardens couldn't be faulted, site(a first visit for us) we'll be back. Brilliant walks, great food...... Oh the birds were singing dawn to dusk, bunnies were hopping about....
Glad I got that off my chest.
