Another glorious start to the day here, chilly but not as cold as Tammygirl. We now seem to have a pet crow in the garden. We've had a couple around for months but this one appears brazen and trying to eat hanging fat balls and taking seeds from the ground not had this before. Went up the garden to top up the birdbath and it didn't fly off but just hopped in front of me. It's now just made it to the lower branches of the conifer at the end of the garden.

They come at that time here too. I put em out the previous night. I think it's to do with the bin crew doing 2 shifts/runs

We are asked to have all bins out by 6am on day of collection. Thus we do it the night before. For a long time we seemed to be the stopping place for the cans and glasses lorry which was not only noisy to tip in but it tipped the whole container too, this ensured we were woken between 7- 7.15am every fortnight. Times for our collection seem to have changed and it's now late afternoon so I reckon they're reversed the collection round and all 3 of the different trucks arrive almost together, that entertains the drivers 😉

Helenandtrevor hope your van arrives for your new date. Jolly frustrating, but think if all the interest you're earning on your money in the meantime 😉😂😂😂.
Brue beautiful blossom
Milliehull your easter sounds fun, please establish rules for egg throwing, so we can all share if we feel the need. 😉 personally I think it's a waste of decent food, but could substitute something else.
Malcolm do you never ask for a rough idea if cist of things before agreeing?
Tammygirl hope it's warming up now?
ABM have a great trip
Tricky can you still move and fit in your clothes? 😉
To all others enjoy your day, whatever you're doing ☺

I didn't ask because I was afraid of their answer and it needed to be done anyway. I had a rough idea because last time I had to have similar repairs, the bill came to £250. That's less cost than a new awning!

We are told to have ours out by 6.30am Ian so they go out the night before. We put them just inside our gate so they are not on the pavement. It's anyone's guess when they actually come. I think they enjoy varying the times - adds excitement to their lives. 😂

By the way, Ian, I had a look at the ACAS website but couldn't find any information on how to present a case to them.

Bakers: rules (?!) Of the egg throwing game which MUST be outside. Each person is given an egg and they then stand in a line one behind the other. The 'thrower' then takes the egg of the first person, stands well back and throws it. They have to catch the egg. If they drop it or break it they drop out. Then it is the next person's turn. As the game goes on the thrower stands further and further back, although there is special dispensation for small children. It was great fun. The 2 dogs involved loved eating up the remains. 😁. So a grand time was had by all and no waste. When we were finished we swept up the shells and hosed the road down.

Hope you're enjoying being with the family in NI Millie, the egg throwing sounds fun.
I watched a DVD last night, The Big Short about the 2008 crash....not fun but a really good film.
Today more family visits here before youngest grandson goes back to school tomorrow. Hope to go out for lunch and get a break from cooking.
The fruit blossom seemed to survive ok last night, it was cold but no air frost which is the big worry. We are also looking after a neighbours young plants, can't let anything get to the geraniums! I must go and have a look at Tesco which are selling plant packs for £1.50, they look nice and strong.

Milliehull I seem to remember playing a ball game like that as a child. 😉ball not an egg. Sounds great fun and delighted to hear dogs enjoyed a bounty too. Most responsible to hose down afterwards. Didn't mean to come across as a killjoy so many with too little to eat and some who have so much they are blaze about waste!

Good morning, Ian. This is just to let you know that I have followed your advice and sent an email to the solicitor to look into the dinner2go case. I explained in my email that dinner2go was using self employment as an excuse to deny me normal employment rights such as minimum pay, holiday pay and sick pay.
I'm hoping that the solicitor can take this up with ACAS and thereafter the tribunal.
I also sent a message to my former boss to say that I tried to resolve this with him in the first instance but that he refused to agree to any resolution and therefore, legal action became necessary. It's now 17 days since I lost my job so I'm well within the time limit of three months less one day.

Don't know if we did have a frost or not as by the time I got up this morning there was no evidence of it. The day looks fine and bright, no sun yet or wind makes a change.
OH gone off to hospital audiology with Mum's hearing aid, she's pulled it apart so its gone to be fixed. He went on the trike so it couldn't have been that cold.
Not sure what I'm going to be doing today yet, but more sewing is likely. Oops that OH returned and I'm still in my dressing gown

We've just been shopping at Tesco Extra as we ran out of lamb gravy and mint sauce. We're having roast lamb for lunch. Later I have an interview with Dominos for a delivery driver job in Littlehampton. Lovely bright sunny morning here in Worthing today.

Just a reminder to everyone that politics is not a subject for discussion on this forum. If we start getting into comments about the election rather than just the date posts will be Deleted User.
Thanks
David
