dont new vans come with a battery? if not, thats pretty shocking and, no doubt, the dealer will fit one....for free
not much point in a go anywhere vehicle that cant be used when it gets there (obviously, ehu excluded)....
no doubt youll get a few recommendation, depending on type of use, however, ypu shouldnt have to be even remotely interested, get the dealer to sort it out so that it can be used...

Unfortunately this one isn't, but they are willing to sell us one at ,I think a high price £120?
seen for much cheaper but not sure if they fit in battery box, checked around there is one for less it's a banner energy bull 110 ah , H190mm W175mm L354mm.
cant find dimensions for battery box but will ring dealers and find out .
bit miffed not free. We'll actually a lot miffed
wondering if this battery will bee enough power with the motor mover also.

110ah is best if you have a mover fitted.
Your dealer is doing nothing to invite repeat business, Camlyn. I would tell him just that and name and shame.

It depends what you are going to use the c/van for if you Will only be on sites with EHU then why do you need a "big"battery we have an 80amp hr Halfords leisure batt on our Bailey now 5yrs old and it is fine including using the Motor mover it fits in the under floor batt box with space

In over 40 years of vanning we only once bought a cvan without a battery and had the one from the van we were p/exing transferred over.
I certainly wouldn't buy a battery from the dealer if he won't back down. Why give him more profit?

Hi camlyn,as TW says go for a 110 volt minimum. We got our last two online and got low profile and quick release fittings as we stay on a non EHU site and it's easier swapping over.
We have never had one supplied and always swapped over

You could check with the mover instructions to see what minimum battery size they recommend. On previous caravans I have successfully used 85 and 100AH batteries. However some of the more modern movers might be more power hungry. No harm in saving weight if you can.
Whenever I swapped caravans the battery was moved from the old to the new. It was only when I purchased a motorhome that it was included in the price.

I have always had to pay for a battery when buying a caravan although have had my previous battery swapped to new van by the dealer. Can't say I ever expected the dealer to include a battery. Always worth a try trying to get one or at least a discount.
