Removing glue from labels in new fridge

Various labels were stuck inside a new Dometic fridge which have been peeled off but have left a sticky area which shows marks. Not  wishing to use an abrasive cleaner any suggestions welcome as no doubt others will have suffered the same experience. Quite why it is necessary to glue them so stubbornly in the first place beats me. We have another to remove from a Swift shower. I just wish manufacturers would test what they do before inflicting unnecessary difficulties on us.

Lakeland do a product called sticky stuff remover.  I've not tried it personally but I've always found their products great. Beats me why they have to do it, perverse pleasure?

Spot  on  there  B2,  I've  got  "Sticky Stuff  Remover"  in  Fluid  &  Gel  forms  from  Lakeland.  Never yet  found  anything  to  beat  it.  Wipe  it  on,  leave  a  few  minutes,  then  wipe  it  off  and  all  should  be  gone,  then  just  give  it  a  wipe  over  with  work  surface  cleaner  to  ensure  any  solvents  etc  are  removed  and  get  out  there  caravanning  wink

    Wouldn't WD40 be a little on the smelly side for a fridge?surprised

Not for long.. clean with soapy water once you have softened the adhesive and removed all traces of the label...

A little turps on a cloth will also soften the adhesive ( which is oil based) that's why the WD40 and turps does the job... wink

I'll  stick ( pun  intended laughing )  with  the  Gel  Sticky stuff remover  !

it  wont  spread  like    WD40 ( A Spray)  will  nor  run  if  on  a  vertical  surface.
