We've been having problems with our truma boiler, first it was the 230v fuse and then a whole new fuse board had to be installed which neither our dealer of truma could figure out why. Now we have the same 45 h error which we think means the 230v needs replacing but it's been less than 12 months since the last one was replaced. Why does this keep happening? Feel like the most unluckiest people going. Surely caravanning is suppose to be pleasurable not give you a headache or constant worry as to whether you'll have heating or hot water. Caravan is only 2 years old! Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

I would assume you are still under warranty ans so a Truma engineer should have a look at your boiler. I would suspect one or more of the elements are faulty and are trying to pull too much current, but I would expect the fuse to go before the board fails, after all that is what it is there for.

Thanks for your comments Richard M, we're going to ring Truma tomorrow to see what they say. It's so frustrating.

The 45h error code can also mean the 10 amp 230v  cartridge fuse in the boiler has blown or the overheat protection has activated and needs resetting. This could happen if you turned it on without water in the boiler or in our case due to a power surge caused by a contractor working on the site mains supply. If the fuse has blown I believe it may not be covered under warranty. The combi has two fuses a 12v 10 amp on the top in the electronics and the other inside the boiler casing down the side. There was a similar discussion to this on the UK campsite forum two weeks ago which you may wish to read.

Thanks for your comments ForestR. We checked with truma and were still under warrant as its for 3 years, was under the impression from the dealer it was only 2. We've checked the 10amp fuse that's fine and we've tried the reset button to no avail.  Have asked our dealer to look at it as suspects it's the 230v fuse but we've asked them to investigate why it's happening. We've also been through the start up proceedure to make sure and were doing it all in the right order etc. Truma said that they'll see if a representative is in the area to look at it too for us, fingers crossed.
