Bailey Warranty
I bought my 2013 Bailey Pegasus GT65 privately three years ago and it has always been serviced by Bailey approved engineers. Last year after a water leak from the front window seal I applied to Bailey for assistance but was informed my warranty was invalid because I hadn't registered the change of ownership within 3 months of purchase at a cost of £35.
I don't know if this is a general warranty condition for all manufacturers but previously when the I VAN (computer) control system failed Whale, the manufacturer, replaced it at no cost and no questions asked.
This is just a heads up to read the Warranty declaration with care.

I think it is all written in the Bailey Handbook, there should have been a card to fill in with the c/van to send to Bailey, have you registered it as new owner with Cris
The warranty with Bailey covers 6 or 10 year(extra cost) body problems including water ingress, other parts as usual are covered by the 3yr warranty with the manufacturers ie Whale
which can be extended to 6yrs for add cost

Your right, it is in the handbook, but when your reading so much on a new van I think it's easy to miss, hence the post.
As a matter of interest I just posted another thread "slow or blocked water supply" and asked for a help on getting a new microfilter part which I could not source and Whale are supplying it free of charge or postage. Is this not the way ahead?

I am afraid if you want to take over the warranty then you need to check the conditions. Having said that it does not say a lot for a company who just jump on technicalities to avoid their responsibilities.
Whale are known for their customer service, caravan builders are not.
Having said that if you bought from a dealer you might still have a claim against them under The Sale of Goods Act or The Consumer Protection Act or against any finance company used in the purchase. It needs far more detail to say but you can try the clubs Legal Helpline for more advice.

Any advice from caravaners? Bought my Bailey Uni Valencia 2015 with warranty, etc from new (Spoilt myself!) My understanding was that I could extend the warranty a further 6 years, totalling 10yrs, this year 2019, which I thought was reassuring. In 2018 I phoned the dealer to enquire about this extension and was told no need to do anything, they would contact me nearer the time next year. No one phoned, warranty runs out next month, and today 20/3/19 I phonedf them and find that this is not the case. I have to pay £269.00 for 1 yr warranty extension for the next year. What do I do? Have had several problems so am now quite worried if I don't purchase the extension I could end up with massive bills. Anyone got suggestions?

I purchased a 2011 Bailey Unicorn Valencia Mk1 7 yrs ago and informed Bailey of the change of ownership. The van, in those days, had a 10 year ingress warranty and was transferable. ( now I believe it’s 6 years with another 4 if you pay up!) Anyway, In January I discovered ingress in the rare offside (toilet area). As the van had been serviced every year virtually on the same date, Bailey accepted my claim and paid the nearly £600 for the repair. The van was again checked and found to be bone dry. Well done Bailey! If my new Coachman is as good I’ll be well pleased.

Have you had water ingress brokenhill? If so, you might look around for something else- it might pay you but £270 seems very steep for a 1 year extension ! Is this an admission by Bailey that they can’t keep water out? My new Coachman has a 10 yr ingress warranty - but I’m not sure it’s transferable-

With respect to the appliances, chassis, pumps, etc. they are generally covered by the manufacturer of the part, not the Van manufacturer.
Claims to the component manufacturers, alko, whale, truma, thetford etc. usually get far better service response than from the caravan manufacturers.

Hello Badend..I'm sorry to hear about your 'warranty' issue, but does that surprise me? No.
We have a lunar quasar, serviced each year & still under warranty. We are the 3rd. owner but fortunately we advised by the previous owner to make sure we registered change of warranty A.S.A.P just to prevent the very issues which have experienced. My grumble..which I've shared on 'club together' is the fact that when we experienced for the first time..water ingression..Lunar made us 'jump through hoops' trying to make them accept responsibility for poor workmanship. The warranty is 6yrs & fortunately this problem occurred within the timescale but we felt that they really wanted us to take the van back to the original selling agent. Since we live in the south & the van came from Yorkshire,we felt that this was unacceptable,so after explaining why we weren't prepared to do that, they advised us any NCC approved workshop local to us would be accepted. My partner found a reliable workshop willing to do the job. They put in a quote for the work to Lunar, only to find that they wouldn't meet the total cost & so after explaining to us the problem of funding,we didn't have the work done. Apparently they only pay these workshops £32.50 per hr. regardless of the fact that the workshop costs may be double that per.hour. Hence this company didn't want the work and be out of pocket. We refused to pay the excess...stale mate!! According to the Lunar customer service representative, Lunar have three levels of payment for their warranty work so we have surmised, rightly or wrongly that they have different payment agreements for such work with their agents. Our local agents were only prepared to do the work if we had purchased a van from them as they had sufficient work but also they weren't keen as it seems this problem of payment is quite common. Our argument has been the that the van was still under warranty and WE shouldn't have been put through the struggle to get our van fixed.
We have now found a reliable workshop, local to us and the van will be going in for the damp situation to be rectified ..but it has been a long wait for parts and many frustrating phone calls to Lunar. So, you're not alone with 'warranty' concerns. It seems to be the way these manufacturers deal with their customers. It's not right that they offer little 'nuggets of gold' to make you purchase & then try very hard to honour a customer's caravan problems ,which have occurred through faulty workmanship.
We both feel that the caravan club executive body should be taking this warranty & other problems that CC members experience with companies supplying caravan/motorhomes to the manufacturers on our behalf... so why don't they? Perhaps because they need the advertising revenue, so necessary in keep our magazine supplied & our annual fee less costly.
Perhaps the time has come to demand that the executive have a discussion with manufacturers of caravans/motorhomes..after all we pay a lot of well earned money for our purchases.

We had serious damp problems with our 2012 Bailey Valencia involving 2 returns to factory. Eventually we traded it in for a motorhome at Marquis. It was resold at another Marquis dealer and the new owner contacted me to ask about the history. Dont know how she got my number but it appeared that they had further damp problems which would cost £5000 to fix and the dealer warranty was limited to £1000.
Nobody had transferred the warranty and it was still registered with Bailey in my name. Bailey, of course, refused to accept liability.
Caveat Emptor.

The Elddis water ingress warranty is 10 years for the purchaser but reduced to 6 years for subsequent owners which wrong I think.
My Caravan was just approaching 5 years old when I purchased it and the dealer gave a years warranty on it so I didn't pay Elddis the £75 admin fee they wanted to update their records. The dealer has been great and fixed a water pipe leak, replaced a split shower wall panel, replaced the water heater PCB and sorted a 65% damp reading around the exterior water pump connections, all without question.
So credit where its due. Thank you for the great service Sussex Caravans.
