Rapido 787
Just back from looking at a 2007 Rapido 787 and trying to work out some of the details to convince us to make the sale. It's a 2.3 engine so the fuel consumption must be more.......has anybody any idea of the mpg?
It's nice van, just going to cost more to run.

Can't help really but we have 2002 Swift Suntor on a 1.9 fiat base. No regrets about our van which we've had for 10 years. However just sometimes not always we'd like a bit more umph, we're on holidays or breaks so happy to take our time so its not often. We get 27-28 mph. Is that any help?

At present we have a Swift 530, so a small van and it suits us....except, we really fancy a bed that can be left made up, as well as some small things that we miss from our caravan days.
The 530 returns around 29 mpg which I think is very reasonable, will I be happy to have a van that does low 20's mpg?

Our 2004 Autocruise had a 2.2 engine Peugeot/Ford engine and we got just under thirty mpg, when you say the one you looked at has a 2.3 then it will be the Fiat base, they are both quite bomb proof ,just make sure the cambelt is changed at that age,

My low profile 2010 Bessacarr E560 (Swift Bolero) 7mtr 3500kg 2.3 130bhp Euro 4 always returned high twenties with over 30mpg achievable on long motorway journeys. My new Bolero, same engine but now Euro 5+ is even better.

Well....we still like the van, accurate measure of our drive and it won't fit. Taking out a couple of feet of hedge and it will, thinking of it.
Slightly bigger problem, the van weighs 3500kg and next year my licence runs out(I'm 72 then), if I understand it correctly I then lose C1 off the licence. It then becomes problematic, having to consult doctors for permission to continue....if I have this wrong, please let me know.
I do like this site.

The default driving licence at age 70 allows you to drive a vehicle with a GVW/MAM of 3500kg. It's whats on the final stage vin plate of the MH that determines what driving licence is required to drive it. So long as the MH hasn't been replated above 3500kg you should be ok.
