Internal Spot Lights
Hi again.
Yet another question regarding lighting. HOWEVER, this time I'm asking about internal lights.
The spotlight in the seating area is looking a bit tired and I want to replace it.
On the side of the fitting it says 12v MR16.
I am not sure what fitting I can replace it with as all of the ones I have seen are 240v not 12v.
Can anyone tell me the best place to purchase one, or if I can use a normal household ceiling fitting?
Thanks

What about using LED bulbs? We bought some at a show and had the old bulbs with us and knowledgeable sales assistant. I've seen what we bought on ebay but that's cos I know what I'm looking for. Caravan supply shops stock similar or somethibgvlike youve got, id take it in with me when I went. Hope this vague information is of some use.

I've done some investigating, Zone 1 lights work? the are low voltage (12v) used in bathrooms?
If yes, then there are lots to choose from.

No need to worry about zones. You can get MR16 12V LED bulbs anywhere.
3 things to consider.....
1. The wattage - about 2 or 3 should be OK. This will be equivalent to a 20Watt halogen. They fit either way round.
2. The colour. These tend to be either cool white or warm white.
3. The angle of beam - spot or flood.
I use MR11 bulbs (a tad smaller than MR16), 2 watt, cool white, 30 degree spot for the reading lamps in the living area.
If you want new fittings, either a caravan dealer or a boat chandler.

This company do them in LED which means you can use a higher power ad they run cooler then a halogen, I always use the AC/DC ones as they never flicker

Hope this helps
