Crystal Palace site
We are thinking of going to the Crystal Palace site in late August or early September but don't know exactly when as we have to wait for the BBC Proms program to come out at the end of April. Does anyone have experience of how busy it is likely to be and when we should book?
Also, has anyone used the Woolwich Ferry with a caravan and is it OK?

Crystal Palace is another site that fills up very quickly,so if I was you book as soon as you can.I can guess that the bookings are going to be tight for August even now.
If it is booked, you could try Abbey Wood but that can be even busier in August.
What caught my eye though is using the Woolwich ferry, whilst I know it takes small lorries not sure about caravans, so you would have to ring them and you will towing in London traffic getting to the ferry Essex side.
My tip for CP would be to come in from the east A2 from Dartford Crossing and follow directions in handbook. The roads are much wider and only "bottleneck" is around Lewisham/Catford section.

As Fozzie suggests book now as you can always amend your booking at a later stage, well at least 72 hours before arrival. I think the Woolwich ferry tends to suffer from tailbacks so I would suggest its best avoided? Site directions in the handbook are usually tried and tested.
