AUDI A4 not a good tow car !!!!!!
hi have recently started another post regarding this car but didnt get much in the way of advice or help so i am guessing nobody tows with an Audi A4 ? mine is a Avant 2.0 td auto and although i had an issue with the shocking fuel economy at first this as
now been resolved but stable it is NOT it sways about with only a slight side wind and if your overtaken by a lorry or a coach well its almost dangerous all tyre pressures are correct and the nose weight is spot on i am not new to towing i have been towing
caravans for about 14 years and i have never had such a bad outfit i did the usuall outfit match which came back as good but since splashing out £30000.00 for the car and discovering the outfit is not a good match i looked to find no reviews for the car with
regards to towing i have now found one which is on here but i think it would be a good idea for the caravanclub to make people aware that possibly only the allroad version is suitable as a tow car unless you are towing something really light i am now looking
at losing about £4000 to change the car for somthing that will do the job which will probably be a Landrover that way i can be sure.

Hi,
Sorry to here of your problems. I have towed with 2.0 TDI VW Passats and 2.2 Honda Accords and found them to be good towcars so have recently bought a Audi 2.0 TDI Saloon. If and when I can get someone to fit a towbar for me, I will report on how it tows. could you let us know what weight caravan you tow and what pressure you have your tyre set too?

I had a 2.0ltr Avant 09 model and that towed ok. I just didn't like the car as I found it uncomfortable and just not my cup of tea. Traded it in after 10 months and have had a few different cars since then but the last 4 have been Volvo S60,V70,XC70 and never had a problem with them. I am now getting the new XC90 so will see how that goes but I have no worries really as it has plenty of power and has a towing limit of 2700 kgs and my caravan is only 1550 kgs.
