Scottish summer holiday starts end of June, so sites popular with Scottish members start peak seson then too.
These extended peak seasons are a recent thing.
Up here, schools go back mid August, but we have to suffer peak season on many sites up here till the english schools return.

Groovy, you've proved there's always an alternative.

you're right they are not near each other but I'm not paying £20.80 at the end of March for Clumber Park as it's not a Bank Holiday it's about time the club stopped cashing in on school holidays

ye but 1st april isn't a Bank hol and just realised I made a mistake on my booking for that day booked this weekend by mistake and had Hebden is coming up peak season rates not going ,the reason I object is I'm single on a low income so the longer each peak season is the less I can go away

Whoops, you're already within 72 hours of noon on Saturday.
Being sIngle actually means you pay less than those units with two of more people on board. I'm afraid it's the same for all of us - we either pay up or go elsewhere or stay home.

I had this discussion recently with the CC as it was then, but only got the standard response that they have only reacted to sites which are popular late June early July. When I pointed out sites which are nearly impossible to book on close to ones which have been increased and they have not suffered the same fate I got the no comment response🙄

Whilst it will be of no help to the OP now members will see quite a few comments on the overseas threads that advise looking at school holiday periods as an indication of pitch availability. The other method is, as he has found, to look at the sites prices.
One alternative is to look at Rallies. We are going to a full facilities site in Cornwall over the Easter weekend for app £65 for five nights.
