You seem delighted with your new car, Triky. No doubt the hand over went well!

While we have had a caravan over to Norway several times, it is very many years since there was a ferry from UK to Norway, not that we ever used it as it was extremely expensive.
We got a price one year...it was almost £1500 for car, caravan, 2 adults and 1 child!
Ferries to Sweden are also gone, and the Denmark ones too I believe.
These days we usually do Hull/Rotterdam and then drive via Germany, Denmark and Sweden, or via Germany and the ferry to Sweden.
It is a very long trip to my home place as it is north of the Arctic Circle.

Yes I was sceptical as well, but look at https://www.ryanair.com/gb/en/
just type in your nearest airport and it will tell you the cheapest destinations and dates which are usually midweek and/or horrible times. Mind you those prices are for carry on luggage only, that is why we only go for about four days & 3 nights. Just get the biggest carry on luggage you can (and they are big enough for a few days). Ibis budget hotels seem the cheapest and if you like your outfits shower you'll the en suite shower/toilet exactly the same ( ie white plastic walls).

was looking on Easyjet http://www.easyjet.com/EN/Booking.mvc and it was £22.99 one way to Tenerife South from Newcastle!

I've been looking at Ryanair from your previous post, found some rather good prices for going out, prices coming back can be a bit more expensive think you have to be patient and keep checking different places at different times. This could be a bad thing as I'll never get the work done that I've meaning to do since I retired 6 years ago I know sell the M/H then we would have more time to jet off

I used the ferry from Esbjerg to Harwich many years ago. It was an overnight ferry that left Esbjerg at 6 p.m. to arrive at Harwich next morning. From what you say, that's no longer there.

The Darwen hotel was fine - clean and only a £4 taxi ride away from the theatre (only £3 to come back!).
I hope I won't offend you if I say CJay was not really my sort of singer. The songs to me had no real depth or light and shade. He had a lot of support (well it sounded a lot) from somewhere behind us and I admire anyone who can write and perform there own songs. I do think audiences ought to turn up for the support, and not leave empty seats until the main event. Very disrespectful.
But Chris Difford - effortless brilliance. Songs, stories, banter. Ninety minutes went very quickly.
It's amazing how different the Squeeze songs sound depending on who's' singing them. We've been to solo gigs by Glenn and Chris, duo gigs by the two of them, and full band gigs. And Chris's stuff from his solo albums is just as good.
I don't take photos or make notes (like the man next to me, who I assume was writing down the set list), but I only have to think of two phrases from last night to recall it all.
Apologies in advance.
"fat bastard" and "fish fingers, chips and beans".
You had to be there!

TG, I've got, and make use of, a couple of "Laundry Sacks" from Nauticalia. They are a navyblueish colour and wth a logo that says " One Week Two Weeks Three Weeks NAKED " and they seem to have been road tested 'cos they seem to be fairly accurate !!
Just get home from one trip drop the bag off, reload wardrobe & fridge then off again -- only stop at home long enough to collect my medication & do a quick bank account check !

It's been a quiet afternoon so far with just two deliveries to do. One Cafe Pitti, town centre delivery and one Macdonalds Lancing delivery. We're now parked in Lancing doing flyers and waiting for the next order.
Lovely sunny weather but there was a cold wind this morning. The wind seems to have died down now and it seems much warmer.
The clocks go forward one hour tonight, so at last we'll have lighter evenings. However, we're working late tonight up to 11 p.m. so we're going to feel the effect of losing one hours sleep tonight!
I miss the full awning. We're using the inflatable tent at the moment as a side annexe. Hopefully, we'll be able to get a new inflatable awning soon. The disadvantage with the tent is that it doesn't cover the door so that when it's windy, the blast of cold air comes straight inside as soon as you open the caravan door.

We drove back from Lancing to Worthing and parked at Broadwater Green for a while. Then we drove back to our caravan as there were no more orders, so catching up with a few caravan chores. Maybe we'll have time for a cup of tea and snack to eat before the next order comes in.
With this lovely sunshine, I expect people are more inclined to go out rather than stay at home for a home delivery. The only thing that might put them off is that cold wind. I think the evening orders may start after 6 p.m. when it starts getting dark.

That's the same as us. We started work at 12 today too!
A Kfc order came in just as we were having a cup of tea with cheese on toast! Now we're at Kfc Broadwater.

A cracking day up here in the Pennines today. A brisk 4 miles this morning and into the garden this afternoon. Did a bit of pruning and then mowed the back lawn, the front one can wait till tomorrow. I can't remember ever cutting grass in March! This week four years ago we had a foot and a half of snow.

There will be once I can get away from here to the National Rally in Sandringham followed by a touring Scotland holiday but that's still two months away! The trouble is holidays are quickly over and then it's back to the grind again!

We have had a busy couple of days. Lots of looking after grandchildren and gardening followed by a lovely evening last night. We went on a guided tour of Peterborough Cathedral by candlelight. A wonderful and very atmospheric experperience. Today we went to the caravan storage compound and took the van over to the washing area to give it a really good clean, especially the roof. Gosh it was bard work but a good job done and it is looking all clean and sparkly now ready for our first trip out this year in a weeks time.
