What are you all up to

Thanks for clarifying that David. I always did think it was a bit of a cheek for people to pop in for a free cup of coffee without buying anything in the store.
Bakers2 my favourite part of Mothers day is the church service in the morning. I go with daughter and grand-daughter. They have a special service and the children give out little posies. 7 year old grand-daughter is doing one of the readings this year. Glad you are having a good time away in your MH. Lunch out in Burnham on Crouch sounds lovely.

Have had our towbar looked at and bolts re torqued, according to the 3rd generation owner of the company, the way most modern cars are made, the fixing points mean having to have an extra extended bolted on bit to the rear of the vehicle where the hook bolts on,which can come under severe stress and cause the bolts to "slacken"and suggests to owners now when fitting, that a torque of the bolts advisable a couple of times a year if doing a lot of (as in our case) towing

Packed car ready to go an pick up van tomorrow then off to Hampshire for the weekend, hopefully the withdrawal symptoms will be satisfied with this short break after 3 months without any trips.
Had to take desktop computer in for repair, suddenly seem to have all sorts of program conflicts, think it may be caused by updates.

Will collect her in the new car that I collect on Saturday, with my wife and daughter, then take a drive to the coast for fish and chips in one of our favourite places.
Have a walk along the seafront, weather permitting. Probably with an ice cream.
The last time the car was changed, just over 4 years ago was Mum's 80th birthday. We picked the car up, collected Mum, who as sharp as ever noticed the new car straight away. We then took her for afternoon tea at Danesfield House, which was the Officers Mess when my late father was station commander. Then took a tour of the various addresses where Mum had lived in the last 40 years.
As it was an INSET day on Monday, my daughter and I took Mum into town for a wander, and lunch. Then used 2 free 'vouchers' on our mobile phone contracts to get 2 bags of Thornton's choccies, 1 for my Mum and 1 for my wife from our daughter
So my wife's choccies are from her phone, my Mums from mine.
Often when near a Cafe Nero on a Tuesday there is a free coffee 'voucher' on the phone contract.
The funniest 'voucher' was for a French Connection UK personal wash kit one Saturday. We went in late and the only customers all day had been the phone owners getting their freebie.
Mum has taught me well to get bargains, must be her scouse upbringing

OP. My heart always sinks when I get a message to say that my PC has updated. It always seems to cause a few problems. Hope you get it sorted. Have a great weekend.

Yes that's the problem. You're right when you say they reduce staff and ask the remaining staff to do more. It is this policy of trying to cut staff that makes those minimum wage jobs unavailable. So people seeking work have to find an alternative way of getting it, which is why I have ended up in this type of work.

It's gone quiet so it looks like I might get to finish work by 7 p.m. today. So 40 more minutes to go!

At the moment we're parked in the Worthing town centre, on Chapel Road. There's TK Maxx on one side and Barclays Bank on the other side. Macdonalds is just a short walk from here down the arcade. It's starting to get dark with a bit of pink sky left where the sun has been setting. It's quite cold outside now, so I'm staying put in the car and catching up with the postings on here. It was quite windy this afternoon.
Good luck with your hope for flowers on Mothers Day, Milliehull.
We have a Waitrose here in Worthing near the town centre but I didn't know they did free coffee.
Please don't send that storm in Devon over here, Brue. After Storm Doris, I've had enough of storms for this year!

Been smashing up here today, breeze a tad cool, but I managed a good four hours in garden doing this and that. Now trying to dig a thorn out of my typing digit!

Magnesium sulphate is good for getting thorns out Tda. Lovely sunny day here as well although a fairly bracing breeze.

Bakers2, I have just watched Kate Humble on catch up and I spotted you!!! Gosh that is a big ice cream. You looked as though you were enjoyjng it.. Talking of fame for a day - if you go on The National Trust holidays website and click on Houghton Mill you will see Mr H and I featured on their banner photo sitting outside our caravan. It features our blue and pink towels beautifully

It wasn't that big an ice cream just the small size, despite what I said to ABM. What does that say about my body???
I'll check out Houghton Mill site, quick fancy a stay there, could combine with visit to son 😃
Ian safe trip home.
TDA I'd go with a needle, hope you've succeeded. I dug the tip of a rose thorn out if hubby's finger yesterday, he thought he'd got it all out, I enjoyed the experience 😉

I'll be thinking of you tomorrow Triky, ambling round your new motor with a silken duster before you take it out onto the dirty, dusty roads.
I'll be lying back thinking nice thoughts as my dentist gets to work and ,, ,, ,, ,, ,, ,, ,, ,, Wheeeeeeeeeeeee !!
P.S.
B2 I'll believe you w r t the ice cream, but if the ice cream was the small size & already half eaten then, as I suggested, you must indeed be fairly tiny !!

OH has offered but I have declined. Too much of a gleam in his eye and pay back for past suffering!

Back home after a lovely 3 weeks in Lanzarote. Weather for most days has been good with 4 days really hot, we did have a very heavy rain/hail storm one afternoon which lasted all of 1 hour, however the wind this year has been relentless.
Hoping the weather over the next few days is good as we need to get into the garden and move lots of plants and bulbs as we are getting a new path laid starting on Monday, why I booked the guy so soon I don't know must have been having one of those senior moments. Still after 3 weeks doing nothing more energetic than walking (about 6km a day) I need to get moving again, legs will be ok but the back might just complain to start with. Grass doesn't need cutting yet, haven't done it since September last year one of the advantages of colder weather
Sadly I won't be getting any visits this Mother's day as number one son is in France skiing and not due home (to his home) until late Saturday, number two son is living in Malta, he will most probably skype on Sunday though for a chat. I will however be picking my Mum up as I usually do on a Sunday.

We're just having breakfast now. After a cloudy start, it looks like the sun is trying to come out.
We finished work on time yesterday at 7 p.m. and went to Tesco In store pharmacy to collect my prescription on the way home as I was running out of Ramipril.
When we got back to the caravan, our evening meal was ready in the slow cooker. We used a value curry sauce which we bought from Tesco just 25 pence, to make a chicken curry. So we had a nice meal at a much more reasonable time than the late shifts at work.
This morning we're having a cooked breakfast. We had some muesli for starters and now there's sausage, bacon and eggs being cooked.
Today we're due to work 12 to 7 p.m. so evening in the caravan again today.
It seems rather quiet on here this morning. I guess everyone is still asleep, although EasyT is usually up early!
