Finally made it!

Thanks to many here for much advice given between buying our caravan before Christmas and finally getting a chance to use it this week! Sealing re-done, window replaced, and we took ourselves off for a night in Oxfordshire, just to make sure we can make it all work.

And now we can see why you all enjoy caravans so much! We had a site almost to ourselves, nothing spectacular, but nice warm clean shower block, and at time of year when we'd not be taking our tent, were quite warm and happy, and skylarks were singing in the morning.

A bit of work needed to make my wife's back happier on the bench bed - memory foam here we come, I think - and we'll be fit for anything :-)

Here's to the next years of trips!

Memory foam makes my bed even more comfortable than at home - Dunelm Mill I think.  Glad you enjoyed it!

    Dunelm  Mill  indeed  !!

This  last  week  I've  had  two  10%  off  cards  for  D E   drop  thro'  my  letter  box  -  and  valid  'til  Jan  2018  !

Can't  think  of  a  better  reason  to  pay  them  a  visit  this  week,  well  if  they  write  to  me  it  would  be  rude  not  to  pop  in  &  say  thank  you  money-mouth

It's called Diamond Farm, KeefySher, and is near Islip in Oxfordshire. And yes, it's a pleasant place to be. The Rapido & Silver Club found it for their Rally, and it's local to us anyway, so seemed a good place for a first trip - good showers & loos, quiet, decent level gravel standings. We paid £19 for our night. I'll review it later on UKCampsite & if non CMC sites are allowed, will do so here too.

Nice local villages, easy for Oxford.

Just discovered it's not easy to find on UKCS. Meanwhile, it's at http://www.diamondpark.co.uk/

Not spectacularly special, but certainly a pleasant place to be in a pleasant area.

Good to know you’re sorted & had a good 1st night away. Memory foam will help but OH always says she is glad to get back to a normal  bed.  Having said that we still really enjoy our time away.  The site looks interesting so have bookmarked it for OH to look at & we may well use it in the future.   Enjoy your next trip away.
