Just thought i'd give a quick review of this site as we stayed here last weekend and thought it was a lovely site and beutifully kept too all in a lovely setting, there is a reasonably busy road nearby but truth be told we couldn't hear it, we had a great spot right next to the River Wye and the site also has a bus stop right outside the gate, the pitches are certainly on the large side and some of them you could easily leave car and caravan hooked up if you so desired. We will be back at some point in the future.

We have been using Lucksall for many years, first as tent campers and more recently as caravaners, and yes it is an excellent site in a great location. The facilities have improved over the years ....at one time you had to keep popping outside of the shower to feed the meter with another 20p coin!

The grass always amazes me .... wish I could get our lawn looking so good and level.

If you are regular visitors to Hereford (we are for family reasons), then another excellent site is Cuckoos Corner at Moreton-on-Lug.  It's smallish with about 15 units.  It doesn't appear in many guides, but has a good website.  (It is Adult Only).

Does anyone know if it is possible to take dogs on Herefordshire buses now? They were previously banned so although this site has a bus stop would we be able to take a dog on the bus? I'm getting mixed info from the web.

Don't know about this site but we've used the Bromyard Downs site and have taken our dog on the bus from there to Hereford, if that helps.

Thanks Nellie, that's good news. OH wants to do some fishing in the area and being able to use the local transport on none fishing days will improve things greatly. smile

I visit Hereford regularly and I have tried many of the sites around the city but not Lucksall although I have looked it over. A nice location on the Wye but expensive. Another vote for Cuckoos Nest especially if you want to be within spitting distance of the city. Further out is the C&CC Hereford site, it has fishing lakes. Photo attached. Moreton is fine but not for the larger outfits,
