    Hi Gill,

Welcome to the wonderful world of caravanning! I'm another Gill who was in exactly your position 3 years ago. My partner hates the caravan so I just leave him at home!!!

I went on a CC towing course which gave me a bit of confidence but you've really just got to bite the bullet and go for it! My first main trip was from Lancashire to Devises in Wilts, bit of a mammoth trip but I loved it.

The thing is, you're a real novelty when you turn up on site as a lone female and get loads of offers of help, if you want it. There's always someone to ask if you're not sure.

As for your first trip, I'm at Whitby North Yorks Moors CC site from 4-11th April if that takes your fancy. I'm unmissable with 3 Westies in tow!

Wherever you decide to go, take it slow, think twice, act once and you'll be fine.

Enjoy your caravan and have a great trip.

    Gill

Off to discover another word now

Doing my crossword puzzle yesterday and a new word cropped up. It was Cruciverbalist. Very funny I thought when I looked it up.

Hi Gill, welcome to the club. I too would suggest that you consider a rally as there would be a lot of help and guidance available. North Yorkshire have a rally over the bank holiday at the Alders Caravan Park near Easingwold. This is easily accessible from the A1 and I know they have spaces available. Details are on the North Yorkshire website www.northyorkshirecentre.co.uk.

Try "egregious " which describes some of the workmanship on new caravans

When ever I see a site that I would like to visit showing full I always try phoning the site. They have more up to date information and I often have managed to get in.

Loads of places around Barnard Castle, and it's easy off the A1, If it's your first time, just go for a steady drive and find a quiet lay-by for a cuppa, anyway enjoy.
