Hats off to Italy, predictions of a cricket score thwarted. They found a legitamate way to unhinge and bemuse the Engalnd forwards long enough to remain in contention for the majority of the game. Good for England mind as they will be, despite the bonus point win eventually, smarting from this. It's going to be a great build up to, and hopefully a great game against Scotland!

Like  others,  I'm  delighted  to  see  some  novel  thinking  in  the  game,  even  tho'  the  half  time  chats  saw  a  way  to  turn  it  to  the  other  teams  advantage  !!

Rugby has long been described as a physical form of chess! I loved it, but not particularly brilliant viewing  for the casual spectator mind!

I have no doubt the tactic will never work again. It should not have been such a challenge to pick up an un-contested ball and run forward.

Easy in hindsight admittedly, but these guys are professionals and should know the rules.

The next round of games are now swiftly approaching. A couple that could have major effect on the outcome of the Championship....England v Scotland & Wales v Ireland. Can't wait to see both game.

    Will he, won't he?

Or should that be Billy, won't he or will he? Play that is this weekend against the Scots! I'd like to think he is.

Seems  odd  to  be  getting  ready  for  a  Six nations  match  on  a  Friday  but  Good  Luck  to  the  Officials  --  I  hope  they  don't  get  too  much  novel  thinking  from  the  Coaches  this  time  round  !!

By  the  Cringe  or  should  I  say  'Ecky  THUMP  !!

Nearly  had  to  turn  the  Tellybox  off,  'cos  some  of  those  tackles  were  rattling  the  windows  never  mind  my  teeth surprised !

Wales  with  a  9 point  lead  and  amazingly  both  sides are  at  full  strength  again,  only  one  resident  of  the  sin bin  so  far !!

    What  a  game  !!

Surprised  so  many  blokes  managed  to  walk  off  the  pitch.  That  was  brutal,  but  exciting  !

What a fabulous game, just hope this afternoon's will live up to the same passion, the bravery, the commitment. Well done to both teams.

Some have said they do not like the bonus point but look at the attitude of Wales in overtime. They could have just 'booted off' and stopped the game but no, their tireless desire continued right to that final, final whistle.

    Loved it!

Right  now,  as  they  walk  off  for  their  Mid Match  Oranges  ( wink )    I'm  hoping  that  Scotland  can  put  a  few  points  on  the  board,  otherwise  it  could  turn  into  an  embarrassing  defeat  .

I believe England have now equaled the All Blacks record of undefeated matches or games won.

Great to see running rugby from England getting much nearer to the standards of the Blacks. An occasional pass from Mike Brown would keep the attacks flowing and a little less rigitity from the forwards.

Interesting to see the catch from a restart that Atoje took and called in another support player to form a maul, rather than running a free catch back at Scotland.

But they have made massive steps forward under Eddie Jones, no doubt the best performance for many years.

What a farce in Paris. Wayne Barnes seem to referee until the side he wanted won. Bit like the Scottish Referendum.

Yes, what a shambles!  He was determined to stall the game until France scored!

I understand he has a place in that "retirement home" in Ireland as Max Boyce suggested. I only thought footballers bit but then the game went on for so long the French got hungry.

I'm  not  a  member  of  that  group  "ainer"  --  just  a  fan  of  Max  Boyce  &  his  humorous  ditties  !!

Had many a chuckle at Max myself over the years ! I thought Wayne Barnes was presented with several 'unusual occurrences' and dealt with them calmly and sensibly. Under the circumstances I'm not sure what other action he could have taken. It will no doubt be discussed for weeks to come !

I too thought Mr Barnes had a reasonable game. He had a chance to award a penalty try to France early in the 'overtime period'. Of course that would not have gone down well with some, the man did the best he or others could have done given the rules as they currently stand in my opinion.
