Hi

Does anyone tow a van 1459kgs with a Ford Mondeo Tittanium 180, how does it tow and what mpg do you get when towing.

Also can anyone tell me the nose weight of the Mondeo please, cant seem to find this info anywhere.

Thank you

    I tow with a 2015  automatic180bhp Mondeo Titanium with a 1350kg mtplm caravan. It tows like a dream, brilliant. The mpg does vary a bit but usually depending on the prevailing wind direction which, I guess applies to all rigs. It usually comes out in the high 20's but occasionally into the low 30's. Part of this is because it is auto which usually increases fuel consumption with most cars.

    The other advantage with the Mondeo is the very generous payload which, for the estate version, is over 600kg. I don't know what the saloon capacity is.

    Summary = Highly Recommended

    I forgot to add, the towball loading is 90kg. Early Ford specs showed, in error, this as 75kg, (even though the previous model was 90kg). Ford have now corrected this.

    Recently acquired 2016 Mondeo estate 180 power shift. Ford Direct via local dealer who fitted Westfalia detachable towball and Ford electrics. Only towed Modena once so far without problem except that on two occasions on cobbles and off road at low speed (10 mph) a graphic has appeared on central display for a few seconds showing car with a rectangular shape behind accompanied by chimes. Dealer thinks it may indicate trailer sway control has triggered but hasn't encountered this before and is still trying to get an explanation from Ford. Anyone come across this?

    Otherwise very pleased and impressed with vehicle both solo and towing
