Don't look to have anywhere near the visual appeal. Are the new ones bigger?

This more than anything else demonstrates the impact and quality of the new design versus the dated poorly thought out old fashion and colorful old design worth every penny of the change. I assume the re-design cost pennies??

But then again what does my opinion matter?

Came across this photo from 1966 taken somewhere in Europe. Full of period items. 1965 Sprite Musketeer, 1966 Austin 1800, My Dad beside the caravan, Lucas yellow headlamp converters held on by elasticated clips. Retrovisor fitted to roof, a reverse periscope to see through the caravan to see traffic behind. Extending mirrors (Delco?) ZE Sticker on windscreen, port of Zeebrugge for the ferry and AA 5* star insurance cover sticker. Caravan Club pennant in the caravan window. Frighteningly 51 years ago and me taking the photo!

My dad had similar mirrors. They were quite good as I recall.

Tended to vibrate rather a lot but better than the alternatives available in those days. We later also added a mirror that clamped to the wing for overseas use
